Nice facility. No reason to drink the "wine." It's a shame that this nice facility can't do a better job.
I used to live near this winery and went to their tasting room with a friend some time ago, 2007 as I recall. It's very accessible from Upper Applegate Rd., with the tasting room and vines just off the street. Parking is convenient. Their wines are wonderful, and the tasting room also features locally produced art and artisan crafts (all wine-related, of course). It was nice to be able to step into the vineyard and see the grapes growing on the same vines used to make their wines. My friend, who is from California, was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the wines, the staff was professional yet friendly, and it was generally a lovely experience.
Located in the Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon, Valley View is exceptional. Their Viognier and Merlot are superb. We were also able to picnic on their grounds and enjoy our purchases. Very friendly staff. Would definitely return.
This is a beautiful tasting room with exquisite Tempranillo and Viognier wines. We also had a late harvest Sauvignon Blanc. Lauren was a knowledgeable and friendly wont hostess. Warning: you will leave with some of their very nice wine. Enjoy!
This winery has great views of the Applegate valley. It also has picnic facilities. On the day we visited we tasted five different wines. We especially liked the Tempranillo and Chardonnay.
We went with friends on a Friday after some extensive work had been done on the tasting room. The person serving the tastes was very pleasant but seemed to be a little lacking in detail with regards to the wines she was pouring. Overall the wines were good but not great. The nicest in my opinion was the Viognier which was very aromatic and had excellent body and a clean flavor with nice acid balance. I would definitely buy this wine.
The pourer was knowledgeable and personable, the wine was good and fairly priced and the atmosphere is lovely.
It was difficult to select just one bottle after tasting the award winning wines of Valley View Winery. The server was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.
So. Oregon has it's own "appellation." We have 43 vineyards in the immediate area, and I think this one is the best of all. Located in the picturesque Applegate Valley, the tasting room is in the vineyards. It has a breath-taking view, and the proprietors & staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The vineyard was the first in the region, and was originally owned by local pioneer Peter Britt. I recommend the Anna Maria Cabernet and the Tempranillo. Valley View is a MUST visit.
In their best years, try their Anna Maria labeled wines. Excellent!
This is another stop on the wine tour of Jackson County. We are so lucky to have these great wines here. And this is a family business that has been active in the community a long time. Glad we can get local wines at our local grocery stores, so we don't have to drive to the Applegate area for a bottle. My favorite is their Voignier.
While you are exploring the Applegate Wine Trail, this one is worth a stop.It wasn't one of my favorite wineries (and there are so many in this valley), but it was nice. The tasting room was big and airy, with lots of wine nick knacks to peruse, and the wines were good. There is some outside seating (we went early in the season, I assume in the warmer months, more outdoor seating is set up to enjoy your tasting).I am no wine connoisseur, I just taste and decide whether I like it or not. Not all wines at Valley View won me over. But the pricing (around $15 - $35, similar to the rest of the Applegate Valley wineries) is within my budget, and that's nice. Nothing more disheartening than to taste a wine you like and then learn it is $85.00.
We love the Applegate Valley and the vineyards are great. Valley View Vineyard is beautiful and friendly. The wines are quite good and the prices are fair. Worth the trip.
Valley View has some good, solid wines. They are not outstanding, but they are tasty and easy to drink.
It's a lovely trip out to the windery near Ruch. They are very friendly people and serve you their exquisite wine in their tasting room. I never leave without a couple of bottles.
