wallowa lake marina boat rentals

Very friendly people, reasonable rates. They have kayaks, paddleboats, canoes, motor boats and fishing gear to rent out. The lake is awesome, especially early in the morning. The people who own the business have been there 25 years. Nice little marina.

We had a friend in town that wanted to go Kayaking with us, my husband and I have our own so we needed to rent one for her. The man in the store part was not unfriendly but not the nicest, it may have been because he was confused that the three of us only wanted one Kayak I'm not sure. We got down to the dock and she had to wait about 10 minutes before someone helped her Which wasn't a huge deal (it didn't appear the kids on the dock were that busy) we were the only people there at the moment, but they could have been doing something.We went out and the paddle for the Kayak broke, she stuck it in the rail of a dock and broke it. So she paddled back to the marina with half of a paddle (knowing we would have to pay for the broken paddle!) The one kid on the dock was really nice about it and went to get someone from the office the lady who came out was super nice and told us how much it would be so we paid the extra and left the building, That is when they lost the stars, We overheard one of the kids on the dock saying mean things about her breaking the paddle (not the one that helped her, there was two young boys on the dock helping people). I don't think that was called for, it got broke, we paid for the damage and it shouldn't have mattered how it got broke and she definitely didn't need to be made fun of for doing it. Other than that one young boy making fun of her and being rude we had a wonderful time and this place would have gotten 5 stars! Anyway we had a lot of fun and it is great that they have such a wide variety of boats and things to rent

Great boats and motors! We had no trouble with our boat and have been frequenting the Marina for years. The boats are clean and well maintained. The people are also great and super friendly! We enjoy coming back year after year! We often enjoy sitting on the patio and watching the people on the water. The marina employees have way more patience with people with little or no boating experience than I ever would! Overall, fun place and people!

Bring your own boat! ... The employee sent our 4 member family out on a 15' powerboat after struggling herself to get the engine started. She advised us "never to buy a Johnson engine as it is not good". We asked for a different boat, in the hopes of avoiding problems with the engine. She said "we probably wouldn't have too much trouble".On our trip back we tried to start the engine and couldn't get it started. At that point, the engine pull cord broke. Luckily, my husband was strong enough to oar us back to the marina. This could have been very tramatic if we would have been further across the lake or had we no one strong enough to oar against the fairly strong current of Spring runoff. The owner of Wallowa Lake Marina is unappreciative of our delima.Our advise to you, make sure the engine seems to start and run well before venturing accross Wallowa Lake! ... or as we will do next time, bring your own boat!
