Beautiful falls, picnic tables, trails. Nice picture taking spots. I wouldn't travel for miles to see it, unless you've never a waterfall before I guess. If you've got valuables, leave them at home or take them with you...at least in the past it's been a spot for car break-ins while you are traveling the trails. It is worth the trip if you live in the area, but not so much if you have to travel far to see it. Great for walking your dog on a leash!
This is an absolutely gorgeous hike. It poses some uphill challenges in spots, but there are easier parts as well if you want something less strenuous. My children have been here and done fine.
This is not a hike to drive two hours to. I hiked the entire park with a dog in less than an hour. This is a LinnCounty park...trails not well signed but easily enough to follow. Three major falls and a pretty creek. Great local hike...but not for someone who is touristing Oregon.
Steep climbs but a very short hike. Easy access from Lebanon and Sweet Home. If you have a full day, go up into the national forest. If not, McDowell Creek Falls is a great little park for a short outdoor adventure.
Worth checking out! It's beautiful! Does not take long to hike, but it is a great time or sure! You will be glad you went. The bathroom is not so nice though.
We spent the better part of an afternoon walking the trails and birdwatching. Some of the trails were a bit too much for my young children, but we found a few of the lower falls easily walkable. There are some picnic tables and benches throughout the area, but they aren't well cared for. The restroom area was less than clean, so use the facilities before you head out here! There is no fee or day use permit required which is great. Overall, McDowell Creek Falls is a must see for anyone wanting a good hike and natural viewing. Definitely worth the drive.
This hike is breathtaking. The 360 degree views of this beautiful rain forest provide a serene and exciting experience that only the pacific northwest can offer. Complete with waterfalls, swimming holes (if you are brave enough to submerge yourself in the frigid water temperatures), moss covered picnic tables, bridges, curious and interesting wildlife, colorful vegetation, and a workout, it has rapidly become one of my favorite destination spots of the Willamette Valley. A great place to bring first time hikers, small children and furry companions, the trails range from easy to exerting. If you are looking for a place of peace, beauty and way to connect with the creations of the world, this is the place to go!
