Grandma has always wanted to go to the Round-up. She never went as a young adult and after my visit the year before she told us how she dreamed of going. We rounded up 11 family members from all over and surprised Grandma with a trip to the Round up. When we got to our seats the view was blocked and the area was poor, difficult for a wheel chair. I found a person in charge and told him the situation and he understood out frustration and got us better tickets. These tickets were in the newer section and were awesome. We could see everything!!! Grandma had tears in her eyes, she just loved it. Thanks so much to the people at the Round-up that made her trip so memorable.

One of the top and biggest rodeos in the world! Top RCA cowboy and cowgirls. There's loads of food, drink and trinket vendors inside and outside the rodeo grounds. The whole event is entertaining and there's even a special night dedicated to bull riding. Let'er Buck!!!

The Round-up is going strong after more than 100 years. There's everything you'd want in a rodeo -- great competitors, great place to see it, lots of history and showmanship, great crowds of rodeo fans, lots of Native involvement, and the Let 'Er Buck Room. Everyone should go this rodeo at least once.

actually want to post about the bull riding event that was the preceding evening excellent event the casino offered a bus service well intended service but inadequate to handle the demand had to wait two hours to transport 60 people

The Rodeo was great and the new seating was well organized and a lot more comfortable than the old bleachers.

Just happened to be in town during this event. We're planning on attending in 2015 so we need to make our hotel reservations soon. Fun crowd, really good biscuits and gravy, lots of small sidewalk sales going on around it. Parking is difficult and expensive, so just need to plan ahead. There are also shuttles running from most of the hotels. Well put together event all in all.

My rodeo experience started with the Pendleton rodeo parade. The way I understand it is for every year the rodeo has existed, there is an American Flag in the parade for each year. So this year there were 104 American Flags in the parade. It was very moving. Lots of cool animals and beautiful horses. I understood all the events but was not fond of the calving events.The bull riding, bare back bronco, bronco riding, barrel racing & cow milking competition were all fun to watch. Afterwards you can get a ticket for the Happy Canyon Show which explains what American Settlers did to the American Indians. It was a bit of a buzz kill after such a fun day but it really did bring history to life.

Many events at the rodeo are just a bit differernt from the typical rodeo. In particular we loved the Indian relay races. Well organized. Just a fun event.

We have been going to rodeos for 40 years, but this was our first time at the Pendleton Round-up. It definitely lived up to its reputation of being an excellent rodeo. Some of the best cowboys and animals in the business were there and we saw some amazing rodeo skills. The events were well organized and well paced with lots of good rodeo action. It was enlightening to watch the Tribal Ceremonial Dancing Contest and we really enjoyed the Westward Ho! Parade on Friday morning and would recommend seeing both. In the parade there were lots of beautiful horses and mules, a few oxen, antique wagons and farm equipment, and majestic Indians from the neighboring tribes in their traditional attire. We also liked the fact that the rides and many of the vendors were staged in downtown Pendleton rather than at the rodeo arena.

This is our 3rd year. We come every year now with friends and we always meet new friends. Been to Cheyenne Frontier Days, and this rodeo has it beat. Great arena and great seats. Reasonably priced for entertainment that is awesome!

We go on the first day of the roundup. Not so crowded, and lots of fun. This is a tradition in Pendleton and a great experience whether you are a real rodeo fan or not.

My wife & I have now come to the 100th and 104th Round-Up's. The Pendleton Round-Up is unique for it's age, the arena (football field), the competitors in the arena watching and the Indian heritage. They put on a fast pace show to keep your attention. I would have preferred a better rodeo clown. The sound system was muffled making it hard to understand at times. The new grandstands are nice. The poles make it interesting seeing at times though. If you love rodeo, GO! If you have never seen a rodeo, GO! Do not go to the Happy Canyon Pageant that is two hours I can't get back. It is two hours of local people standing, riding, running and who knows what else trying to make the Indians feel better for taking their land and the how the white man ruined the land. The acting is non-existant. Yes, they have done this show for 98 years and families have been part of it for 6 decades, but a train wreck is a train wreck.

All in all, it was a great time. They do a good job of putting on a great show. The rodeo is a good competition. It attracts high caliber cowboys. The only real detractor is the overall expense. While the tickets themselves aren't too bad, everything else is spendy!

The rodeo was not going on when I was in Pendleton, but I went by to see the grounds. If you have ever seen a rodeo arena, you will be blown away by the uniqueness of this place. It is a grass football field where the local high school plays their home games, surrounded by a dirt oval similar to a horse racing track with no rail, with bucking chutes on one side, all surrounded by an oval of seats. Quite unique. It is right downtown, so close to most hotels and restaurants.

I didn't attend the Pendleton Round Up which is held in September but I did go to the arena on my way out of town. A horse riding competition was underway, with women riders only. Both the magnificent horses and the talented, courageous women were a delight to behold. Personally, I believe rodeos are very abusive and cruel towards cattle and young calves so I would avoid the glorified Round Up in September for those reasons, but watching beautiful horses and beautiful women ride them is another matter!
