It has been a few years since I visited the Pendleton Woolen Mills store, but always enjoy a trip to see what they have in stock. Have given blankets as gifts over the years. When I was a kid we used to visit the Woolen Mills and tour it, was always fun.
Stopped to look for fabric remnants but selection was very limited. Not sure if they are discontinuing that department, but have had much better selection on previous visits.
Nothing special. Love Pendleton's 100 year qualitybut very expensive and match with few decors. Last tour at 3 pm.
I used to go here as a little girl when they had tours of the mill. It still has a special place in my childhood. As an adult, I love to check out the clearance room where everything is discounted. I also like to buy the scraps for cheap to make rugs and other wool items. I understand things are a little pricey but they do have sales at least which makes it a bit easier to purchase these beautiful pieces of history.
We were looking forward to visiting the mill store and we were So disappointed. The prices were higher then what we expected for a "mill store". The staff? Was there a staff? No one ever approached us or spoke to us. Pretty things, well made but I would go somewhere else.
I have owned Pendleton shirts and blankets. Back when these products were made in the U.S.A. Don't go expecting to get any great prices, because you are at the mill store. Most items are made in other places. If you have the time to order a custom blanket, then you will probably be getting something unique and your memory might be more upbeat than what I experienced.
Stopped by on the way back home from Seattle…beautiful items, very helpful staff. I bought a couple of woolen blankets which had (very) minor flaws and that made 'em half price - great deal. I'd like to have bought a bunch of other stuff, but a regular prices it's all pretty steep. Fun to visit.
It's to be lamented that Pendleton now manufactures everything outside of thr U.S., but the shop here is well stocked with Pendleton woolens at good prices. It's worth stopping in.
This was a really interesting place to visit. The storefront is beautiful. The kids loved seeing how the wool is made. You get to be up close to all the machinery and see blankets being woven together. You also learn some history of the surrounding area and how the relationship between the factory owners and local Indian tribes helped shape the community. Overall, this was a stop well worth making.
Enjoyed seeing the process and final products. Was hoping there would be more. More of the dying process.
Tour was interesting and the on site store was nice for shopping opportunities. I was a little surprised the tour was so short, about 30 minutes, but the guide was quite knowledgeable and covered his topic and answered all questions that were asked. The store does have sales at times, for the economically minded.
Just touring this place is a great experience - the beautiful Native inspired patterns on clothing, home items, blankets and pillows are gorgeous to look at, although few bargains are available here.
My husband was looking to replace his wool comforter, and though they don't make comforters there, he found a beautiful woolen blanket that he likes. Prices are what you would expect from hand-crafted quality products, so no complaints there. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Prices and quality of merchandise in their outlet store was not nearly as good as the outlet stores in other locations. Looked like an old warehouse built around the turn of the century....staff not that friendly....after a brief look around had no interest in their 25 min tour.
most interesting tour to see how woolen fabrics are made from raw wool to finished products by the Pendleton company
