Cook Park is Tigard's main recreational park. It is quite large and consists of volleyball courts, soccer fields, baseball/softball fields, gazebos, walking/biking trails, and a lot of grassy areas for general picnic fun. It is so large that the park is often used for large outdoor venues such as the Tigard Balloon Festival and BMX events. There are a sufficient number of restrooms, and they are above average clean.Personally, I have never been to a city park which offered so many amenities.
Geocached and kids played at park. Great paths to walk on. Near to hotel. Good place to take a picnic
This park has grown since we moved here. The trails and fields are well maintained. There is something for all who enjoy the outdoors.
Our grandchild is a toddler--there's a great play area just for little ones, and she loved it. It's away from the other play areas, so less busy and therefore it's easier to keep an eye on the little one.
Great annual community festival. Bargain at $7 for three days of admission or prepay for $5. Go when the sun goes down to see night glow when the balloons are brightly glowing.
You can do so much here. Tennis. Playground. Dog park. It connects to a long walk that connects to a few other parks in the area. You can walk, run or bike on the concrete walk.
I loved the cement trail that led through the forest at this park. It has streams, bridges, and honking geese. We walked the whole trail and it was well worth going. I really enjoyed this park. It is well maintained and has a bathrooms! Great place to visit and tons of parking!
The park is professionally manicured and maintained. Plenty of room and parking. The covered social area is ideal for gathering and barbecuing. There is a spacious soccer playing area, baseball diamonds and a boat launch area. There are always friendly and helpful grounds keepers around. This is a delightful area to spend time with family, friends of alone.
Plenty of picnic space and covered shelters, clean restrooms, plenty of parking, nice playground equipment.Tupling butterfly garden is spectacular w/ bike and walking trails that connect to Durham and Tualatin/Bridgeport Village all year round. Kayaking and fishing available on the river. Baseball diamonds and soccer fields have heavy seasonal use.
Cook Park has something for everyone! Play structures/swings for the kids, park benches, open grassy areas, covered shelters, bbq grills, soccer fields, baseball fields, walking/biking trails, river runs past the back. I think there is even a boat ramp.
We visit this park in the fall for soccer games, and in the summer for the balloon festival. In between, we'll head to Cook park so the kids can play on the play structures (there are several. There are also really great running/walking/biking paths. Plenty of parking and always well-maintained bathrooms.
This is a huge park available to the public with the Tualatin River running through it. It has multiple soccer fields, bike and walking paths. You can rent a kayak or a canoe, you can grille up a burger and watch the kids play or you can walk to your heart's content. In the summer it has the Hot Air Balloon Festival and hosts a few old car days. It's a real outlet for getting back to nature and enjoying special events.
Love the river access. Can walk down ramp or beach to launch craft. We use electric motor on 4 man raft and went down Tualatin river and back, for a few miles. Geese for kids to see, places to sit and look at river, one covered pavilion in the back. Bathrooms too ,with ramp to get to them. But may be closed in winter.
Cook park is a great place to take the family. There are a couple of play areas for children, great walking/bike paths that connect two small towns and it is along the Tualatin River.
A couple years ago, Tualatin and Tigard decided to meet in the middle... of the Tualatin River that is. They built the Tualatin River Ped Bridge to connect Cook Park in Tigard with Tualatin Community Park and now both communities can enjoy the gorgeous natural area on both sides of the river. The trails are superbly maintained. We see lots of birds and squirrels, and ducks in the river from the bridge. The park is a mix of wetlands, open areas, sports fields, playgrounds and trails.
