My husband and I came to the Portland area for our anniversary. We went on a tour with Scott and had a wonderful time. We went to 5 different wineries and enjoyed each very much. Scott is not only knowledgable about the wineries, but also the whole process of wine making and grape growing. We learned a lot and had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend!
My husband and I booked a trip with Scott on our first ever trip to Oregon. It was fantastic. Scott was very friendly and perfectly tailored the tour to the two of us. It was raining the whole day, but Scott was prepared with umbrellas for us.
This was our first visit to the Willamette Valley so we really wanted an expert to show us around. Scott was exactly the person to introduce us to the wines of this area. We told him what we enjoy when wine tasting -- smaller vineyards with a personal experience meeting and visiting with the winemakers. Boy did Scott deliver on our request! We had individual wine tastings at 3 of the 5 vineyards we visited and were able to ask all kinds of questions. Two of the tastings were actually in the wine makers home -- awesome! The other two tastings were not individual but they were still very small and intimate. Scott also shared his knowledge of the area with us planned the day so that we experienced different sub-appellations within the Willamette Valley AVA. The wine was all great and the picnic lunch of cheese and salamis that Scott provided was a nice surprise to complement one of the tastings. You can't go wrong, no matter what you are looking for, by having Scott plan your day of wine tasting.
My wife and I had the pleasure of being toured to 4 great wineries by Scott. He was very knowledgeable about the region and its wines and very personable. The meat and cheese plate was delicious and the views from the wineries breath taking. We enjoyed his services so much, we wish he could have had a few glasses with us! We definitely recommend him to anyone wanting a great winery experience.
My friend and I went on a girls weekend wine tour to Oregon a few weeks ago. We knew we wanted to visit a variety of wineries but not being from the area, we weren't sure where to go. I knew I wanted to visit Beaux Freres, but beyond that, we knew we'd need some guidance. I looked at several tour services but I eventually chose Uncorked NW wine tours after reading the glowing reviews online - of which there were many. This turned out to be the icing on the cake of our weekend. Scott was a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable about the wines, the region and introduced us to some wineries we likely wouldn't have found on our own. We were staying at the Chehalem Ridge B&B and Scott arrived promptly at 10.45am to whisk us away on our adventure. My friend is still learning about wine and Scott was very happy to answer her questions and was really great explaining the history of the area and the winemakers which was really fascinating. He packed a cooler with a variety of meats and cheese for us to enjoy at lunch at the Willakenzie winery. And his relationship there allowed us to taste some wines not on the list - which was truly delightful. I recommend booking his services as soon as you know you're going to be visiting the area, as he's in demand and will likely be booked out. And your tour is only as good as your guide. Scott is a professional wine guide without the pretentiousness. His polite and courteous manner, knowledge and fun attitude really made this a great time. I also loved that it was a private tour and not a larger tour. We really enjoyed the personalized service, suggestions of places to visit and a tour designed just for us. I can't wait to come back with my fiance and other friends and will definitely be booking with Scott again. I highly recommend his service to anyone looking to wine tour in Willamette Valley, you will not be disappointed! Uncorked NW is Unbelievably fabulous!
Scott was wonderful and helped make our 30th Wedding Anniversary trip amazing! Went to Witness Tree, Bethel Heights, Cristom, St. Innocent and our favorite, Brooks!
Scott was great, very knowledgeable and accommodating. We went out yesterday in the Newberg, Yamhill-Carlton District and Dundee hills areas and visited 4 vineyards. We are all reasonably experienced with wine in general but Scott was able to show us some of the hidden gems of the PNW. He was able to make changes on the fly in suggesting winery's and selections to suit our tastes in wine since our group was made up of all different tastes and pallets. I highly recommend his service! Thanks Scott-Ryan -Marla -Cheri -Karen
We celebrated my bachelorette weekend with Uncorked Wine Tours. Scott was quick to respond and set up our day including several winery and restaurant recommendations in the area. He picked us up at 11am sharp and when we had extra time added a quick stop at one of his favorite spots to ensure our day was fun filled...we enjoyed our day of wineries with Scott who provided local knowledge, good tunes, bottled waters and the most amazing cheese plate EVER to keep us happy and hydrated. His relationships with the local winemakers ensured we had some special treatment and I would definitely recommend his services for parties, couples or wine enthusiasts that want to explore the gorge area wineries safely. We can't wait to return for another tour...truly one of the best parties we've ever had on wheels!
This was my second trip using Scott from Uncorked, He is great and super accommodating.he also has great suggestions!!we will definitely use him againShannon and Tim
My husband and I will truly remember this day for years to come. Scott's passion and knowledge of wines and the region are amazing. He made us feel comfortable and special. I really hope we have an opportunity to come back and try some other wineries with Scott.
Would go again with Scott next time we visit! We ended up going to five vineyards all of which were great. He gives a great wine tour.
Was in Portland Oregon for a couple of days and decided to do a wine tour. Thanks the good Lord I have had the privilege of being in Napa,Sonoma, Spain and the Finger Lake region in New York in the past. I have to say that this experience in Oregon ranks among the best. Scott was fantastic and made this tour a memorable one. He is very knowledgeable and the wineries he picked were tailored to my needs. I am a huge basketball fan and had the opportunity to visit a winery in which a famous basketball coach has interest in, AWESOME. Everybody knew Scott and hence treated me like a friend which was great. Planning on returning to a different wine region in Oregon in the near future and will definitely call Scott.
My wife and I enjoy visiting the Willamette valley for its wine, food and scenery. On our last trip, we decided to treat my father-in-law to a weekend birthday tour of the area. To make things as simple as possible, we hired Scott to give us a tour for day. In our many trips to this and various other wine regions in the PNW and CA, we've never hired a tour guide. Wow, did we have fun!!! Scott is wildly personable, knows his stuff, knows the staff at numerous wineries, suggested a few small wineries we probably would not have visited on our own, arranged for and gave us a private tour of the wine making facilities at WillaKenzie, provided a delightful Charcuterie luncheon and generally showed us a great, carefree wonderful time. Highly recommended.
My husband and i invited my dad to join us on a trip to Oregon wine country and felt a tour would enhance the experience. Scott made our trip incredibly memorable and successful. He picked out a variety of winery types that complemented each other in terms of what they had to offer, their size and age, but more importantly he is incredibly knowledgeable about wines and wine making, and can discuss technical details in layman's terms. The highlight was a tour of the wine making process at one winery. It felt very behind the scenes and left us with a very good sense of the experience and process of making wine in this region. I will hire him again the next time i go to Oregon wine country.
We went to Portland the week of New Years for a couple of basketball games and decided at the very last minute that we should spend a day wine tasting while we were there. I called Scott between Christmas and New Years to see if we could schedule a last minute tour (which I felt was pretty unlikely). Scott was completely flexible and said that he would be happy to take 4 of us (2 couples) out that Friday. He asked some basic questions about the wines that we liked and we set up a time to get together. Our group has done a lot of wine tasting in the past in Napa, Sonoma, Australia, New Zealand, Santa Barbara.... but we have never done any in Oregon. Scott answered all of our questions about wine (and property values, and the weather and about many other topics). The four winery's that he chose to take us to were great and all greeted him like an old friend. Our day of touring/tasting was relaxing and amazing. We will definitely go out with Scott again next time we are in town.
