The casino itself is an upgrade from when they actually had it at the Kaneeta Resort. Smoke filtering is average. Gaming options are a bit limited. Black jack is the only card game but you'll get great personable dealers, I know because my sister is one of their managers. The food court offers decent snack food and alcoholic beverages can be purchased and taken on the floor. The resturant actually has some decent breakfast and dinner options. If you want to stay at the resort, they provide several shuttles daily to and from and takes about 20-25 minutes. Conveniently located right off highway 26 and a great museum right next door.
Some times you win, sometimes you do not, but the bus ride from Portland takes you thrubeautiful mountain scenery. The buffet lunch includes salmon, shrimp and salad fixings.
Love this location better, and the service is top notch! They have all my favorite games, a lounge, a grill and restaurant. It was a very clean friendly casino. It also helped that I won at every machine at sat at. Even though it's about 2 hours from Portland, it's a beautiful drive and well worth it. We'll be back!
Small casino with some good slots.; I lost but my son came out ahead. The food was good and very inexpensive, just a little slow coming out of the kitchen.
We dined last evening at the Cottonwood Restaurant. We have dined there two other times and the food and service were fine, but not this time. We all ordered dinner with salads to start. After waiting about 20 minutes, we got our dinner, but no salads first. I mentioned that we hadn't gotten our salads and the waiter said they were too busy in the kitchen. Huh?? Three of us ordered shrimp scampi with baked potatoes. Cold potato and lukewarm shrimp. No butter, so we asked the waiter and he walked away, never to come back. I finally called over the manager and told him we had never gotten our salads and had no butter for the "cold potato" and was informed that we would get a reduction on our bill. We finally got the salad after we were finished eating the dinner. We got 10% off our bill. I think the waiter was new and had no personality at all, didn't really care if we got served or not. New chef needed and some training for the staff. Casino is OK, but won't be back to eat at the Cottonwood. Also, the grill doesn't have smoothies any more and that was the best part of the grill.
Very clean casino. Great ventilation for being small. Glad they moved it from the Resort. It was too far. Staff was friendly and Deli food was very good. A hotel would definately make it a great place to visit.
2nd visit for breakfast and not impressed. Food was great service was very poor. There was only 2 other couples in Resturant 8:30 am We were seated promptly but took about 10 minutes for a server to bring water and approx the same to take order. I have visited many times since opening but will be last for awhile.
We visited on a Tuesday which was senior day so we got $10 free play plus the $20 for new player sign up. We played slots and the cigarette smoke was not noticeable. They had a good selection of old and new slots but only around 500. We played on our free money for quite a while as the slots were hitting. All the workers were friendly. They have serve yourself drink stations for coffee and soft drinks. We did not eat there. It was an enjoyable stop.
Nothing I remember to dislike. Played only slot machines which had a good variety for a small 500 slots casino. New members sign up and play $20 points to get another free play of $20. Double points your first day so only have to play $10 to get your free $20.
Ate dinner at the main restaurant with my other half and some friends. My food was very good the only minor issue was that my girlfriend's salad was drenched in dressing. We all liked our meals and ordered dessert which was also good. The prices were quite reasonable which was not what I was expecting.Went into the casino for a bit and it's just a casino. Lots of slots a few tables for blackjack. The building is still very new. We'd return again to eat but maybe just ask for the dressing on the side.
This casino was previously located at the Kahneeta Resort and Spa, but moved to the highway a couple years ago. Personally, I don't think it was much of an improvement. It's quite a drive from the resort, and their were fewer people there the day we visited than we ever saw when it was at the resort. The restaurant is small and plain, but the food was quite good and the service was excellent.
When the new casino location opened on Highway 26, the restaurant was high-end with a real chef and a great weekend buffet, and a lot of value. Apparently it didn't do well enough financially. Now there's a decent restaurant with a fairly limited menu and it's spendy. Nothing to write home about.
A nice small town casino, with the usual games and lots of penny slots. The staff is really nice and helpful. Easy parking. A free bus from Bend with stops along the way.The soup and salad lunch buffet in the Cottonwood restaurant is really great. It is extensive and has wonderful Indian fry bread. The wait staff is so very nice. They have senior prices too.
Being also governed by Oregon law the Casino is limited in what it can offer in amenities....They do allow smoking which to me is a turn off--the food is good, drinks are average and priced above market but they smile and do their best....They are of the beaten path except between Portland and Central Oregon and that is a limited market.
Well they have like 6 card tables. We were there on Saturday night. They were almost no people (not fun)I had the steak at the restaurant it was awful!
