We were amazed with the beautiful tasting room, the garden, and the landscape. The wines are as good as any we tasted during the visit to the region, and the staff was very friendly. It is also close to other good wineries. Definitely planning to come back in another visit.

I am sorry that you decided that this event was not for you and left. This was a special event and not regular tasting room hours thus the entrance fee of $5 and no normal wine tasting. if you had stayed a little bit longer you would have had a fun evening and been able to participate in the evening activities (at no additional charge) which included a screening of The Nobel Spirit, a guided tour of the art collection, a vineyard tour, all capped off by a spectacular firework show. The "chosen few" (to use your term) were our Saffron club members who enjoy free tastings year around as one of their benefits. We often have special areas set up for them at our events. There is no fee to join the club but it requires a purchase commitment of 12 bottles per year.If you want to only taste the wines or visit we are open daily 11 am - 5 pm and there is no entrance fee to visit. If you choose to taste our wines the tasting fee is $15.

Just visited Saffron Fields Vineyard in the Willamette Valley on Mother's Day. New winery worth seeing. Great architecture using wood from an old barn, Japanese garden, coi pond with coi on it's way. The employees were really nice and informative. I think the wine stayed true to the Pinots we love in Oregon. Delicate, not overly alcoholic, or overly oaked. We bought two different Pinots. This would be a beautiful place to have a wedding or anniversary party. I think they are beginning to have some events there. Tasting fee of $15 is comparable to all wineries in the area. Pinot is a pain to make and costly as well. They comp the fee if you buy a bottle which runs around $48.
