We attended the National Poetry Out Loud Recitation Contest in Willamette University's Mark O. Hatfield Library. High school students from all over Oregon were competing for the state championship, reciting the poetry of many great poets. The winner won a scholarship and will compete in the National championship in Washington, D.C.The room in which the event was hosted was a comfortable and attractive venue for this prestigious competition. The library is impressive with some wonderful views of Mill Stream which wends its way through the campus. The campus itself has a very nice feel: beautiful buildings, old and new, with plenty of green spaces enhanced by captivating works of art. All of which is conducive to learning - opening minds and hearts to new and varied experiences. We will definitely return just to take a leisurely stroll on the grounds!
Lovely little university in the middle of Salem, the river running through the middle of it is so serene and captivating. An excellent university (my aunt earned her Law Degree there), worth a quick stop if you are traveling along I-5, walk around and explore, stop in the book store and get a t-shirt.
Family alumni at this University, si we always enjoy visiting when we are in town, to see the changes over the years, and the growth of this Univeristy has been phenomenal. Beautiful campus and especially the Library.
The buildings look to be well maintained. Some are old mixed with the new! Beautiful fall foliage this time of year.
We have been to a lot of universities, and still think that Willamette U has such charm! Very wonderful school and great professors.! We were able to meet some of them on a Saturday!!
Really beautiful campus grounds and nice historical buildings. Love to stroll around near the creek that runs through it. Nice to go into the cafeteria and grab a bite there. Lovely landscaping.
The campus is beautiful, with lots of art work, plants, water features and places to sit and watch the world go by. It is just a wonderful place to spend an hour or two with a coffee. it backs to the capital building so you get a view of the capitol as well.
Willamette is a beautiful campus and a great place to take a walk. It is located right across from the capital building in central Salem. Not only is it lovely, but it has a first rate cafeteria with great food at reasonable prices that is open to the public. Terrific place to enjoy lunch any time of the year.
Attended the wedding of my niece at Cone Chapel on March 29, 2014. Such a beautiful chapel and beautiful campus. The wedding was so lovely. Wish there would have been someone who knew how to play the organ, it would have added so much to the pre/ceremony. The temperature in the chapel was very warm. The reception was held across campus in a large room in the dining hall. Unfortunately there were support columns blocking views on all sides of the venue. The appetizers and main dishes were very good. The servers were friendly and helpful. The worst part: there are NO signs marking many of the buildings on the university campus! The parking was awful and walking in the rain/drizzle did not make it any better. Please Willamette University! Spend a few dollars and let people know which building is Cine Chapel and people need to use the back entrance of the chapel. There is also an elevator on the 1st floor for those who need one.
One of the oldest university's in the nation, founded by the early Methodist missionaries in the "Oregon Country." Gorgeous campus, vintage buildings, state-of-the art buildings. All of brick construction. Check out the Hatfield Library, stroll along the millstream, take in a lecture, or musical event. Consistently rated among the top liberal arts universities in the nation. (Well yes, I'm an alumn!"
We are visiting colleges for my daughter. We loved Willamette! The best part was lots of the professors take their dogs to work! When we visited the science department there was a corgi there to great us! My daughter's favorite subject and favorite dog!

We are senior citizens in the community and always enjoy our time at Willamette's campus. We never miss their Christmas choir concert, "Christmas a Hudson Hall." We often drive to Willamette U. to go for walks under the ancient trees and admire the beautifully kept grounds and brick buildings, the old architecture and the new. The many benches under the trees invite quiet relaxation or a place to eat a sack lunch. I enjoy the great collection of books in their library. We are proud to have Willamette in our midst and are grateful that we always feel welcome there.
Great and rigorous MBA program. Beautiful campus with a nice river flowing through the middle of the campus. Soccer field open for the public, but sometime could be occupied by formal matches in which a reservation might be required.
Great weekend visiting the campus. Beautiful campus, fun activities. Fun to see dorm life .Great choral program
