The National Forest campground (not the resort) was really nice....flush toilets, showers, boat launching, rustic campsites(no hook-ups). We had 4 campsites for a family camp-out--H43-H46. Very secluded. Surprised there were no bugs on Labor Day Week end! Nice paved bike trail around the lake. Good fishing. No real swimming place. Nice for kayaking. Overall...we would return here. Also very close to Crater Lake for a side trip. We had a very fun time!
Dirty, old and worn out . Could be a nice place with a lot of repairs and cleaning. The food and the staff were friendly . The motel rooms were in great need of cleaning and repair . Stayed one night checked out one day early. The only nice thing to say was the towels were new
We rented a 16' boat for $80; caught 2 Trout, about 2 1/2 lbs each and 1 @ 3.2 lbs! Staff and locals were friendly, gave good advice.....and what a beautiful setting! My only grumble is that I didn't make the 4 LB Club! Next Year! ..... aloha from Hawaii!!
gorgeous lake on the way to crater lake. had lunch at the resort. great chef salad!! nice view from the restaurant.
Beautiful lake, great fishing! Loved the hot showers at Diamond Lake Campground. Southside pizza was delicious & super genetpis portions on their ice cream offerings! Only downfall, the grocery at the resort is outrageously priced, unless it's an emergency I'd recommend trekking into Chemult.
A beautiful mountain lake that has been too commercialized with restaurant, apartments, etc.. Boat docks, fishing, swimming, hiking, sometimes dogsled races. A little pricey.Jane L.
I might be a bit biased as I was raised nearby however I have nothing but fond memories and good experiences here at Diamond Lake. I've returned here on many occasions with friends and family for summer and winter activities.During the summer fishing is decent and they stock the lake regularly. Camping sites are available around the lake at various locations. Plenty of hiking to be had and most of the lake has a bike path close to the water.During the winter ice fishing is available, snow mobiles, and there was a fun tubing hill that lifts you to the top!
Love to come up here with my buddy. Some of the best fishing in the southern part of the state compared to the other lakes. My only complaint is that it can get busy some times especially on weekends and it can get noisy with water skiers and tubers. All in all not bad though since it is a pretty big lake.
I visited Diamond Lake as a fly fisherman on an annual basis and was very disappointed in the catch results this June. The scenery remains astounding and the lodge is warm and has decent food and drink available.
Mosquitos were so bad!!! You could not even relax outside!! Was so disappointed. Check before making the long trip to this spot.. Ask the locals in Roseberg...
Our family meets every August at Diamond Lake - spending between 2 weeks and the entire month at the resort. This year was year #42, I believe - more years than I want to count actually. We keep coming back year after year for two reasons - this is a beautiful location to rest and relax and the Koch family who own the resort are among the most friendly and hospitable people that you'll find anywhere. Understand, this resort was started in 1922 as a "fishing resort" and has transitioned over the years to welcome a wide variety of people who want to enjoy some of the natural beauty that the area has to offer. If you are expecting the Ritz Carlton, you'll be disappointed. But we request the same cabin each year and it's perfect for our entire family. You can bicycle around the lake, let your dogs swim, paddleboard, hike one of the nearby mountains, visit Crater Lake National Park (35 minutes away), fish, take a tour of the lake, suntan and enjoy the view, or just get a little R&R. The lodge has WiFi for those who HAVE to check to their email and my cell phone works in the cabin - some carriers work and some don't.Our family likes the food in the cafe - there's a reasonable selection - the soup is homemade, and the Sunday breakfast buffet is always good. But again, if you're looking for a 5-star restaurant, I suggest you break out your own BBQ. There is also a full lounge upstairs that is open daily - serving your favorite adult beverages. We look forward to our annual trip to Diamond Lake each year and the only bad part is the day we have to leave. I wish we could visit more often.
the lake was polluted with some blue green smelly stuff. Fishing was bad and it was not looking good for swimming.
We stayed 2 nights to see close by Crater Lake, accommodations minimal around here, so we picked Diamond Lake. Great views, but our bed in studio was hard on the body. One of those that you have to keep turning to sleep. Very rustic place, but you won't sleep well. We won't be back.
Our Grandkids love this place, especially the bumper boats. They have a nice beach for the kids, a nice restaurant and lodging. Boat rentals include party boats, ski boats and fish boats. Rental rates are very reasonable. The view is to die for, a setting you won't forget. Lots of campsite along the lake shore but bring bug repellant. Diamond lake is definitely a vacation place for Family.
A "None-Whicher" is a place that is beyond compare. Fishing? Drinks/food? Canoeing? Snowmobiling? Cabins and community parties? Silence and beautiful views? What do you want? You got it. That's all I can say about Diamond Lake.
