Just informative enough, and lots of beer at the first pub to get everyone loosened up. Small group worked well for the setting. Tour guide is pleasant and informative. You get lots of beer for your money but I unfortunately got a little sleepy, so be careful if you plan on going out after.
A very nice and informative tour. Our group was small (8 people) and was the right size to see everything and get questions answered. The variety of beers sampled was good and the taste quantity more than adequate. The guide was very knowledgeable about beer brewing and history, as well as Portland Old Town history. The choice of taverns was quite good. I hope to go on more tours with this company.
The tour itself was really enjoyable and our guide Adam was so great! His knowledge of Portland history and the way he presented it left us all wanting more. I highly recommend it to anyone.
The tour was a blast! My boyfriend and I went on the Valentines Day tour. Our tour guide was very well informed and a lot of fun. We want to do one of the other tours soon! Highly recommending it to our friends and office! Thank you!!!
Good beer and Adam was a fantastic tour guide. If you're visiting Portland or even if you're a local, I'd definitely recommend taking one evening, hearing some fun stories about the cities storied past and enjoying some good beer.
This tour was cheesy and the beer was mediocre, but the tour guide was funny and gave a great lesson on some of the more interesting historical anecdotes from Portland's past. Definitely worth the money and if you get a good group you can all go out for a beer after.
Despite the rain we enjoyed our tour immensely. Our guide was funny and informative. The beer tastings were good and we enjoyed the stories of Portland's history and its hauntings. Walking around downtown on a Saturday ensured we experienced Portland's true, odd character. However, there were no ghost sightings and we still remain skeptics.
This is a great walking tour where you gain some wonderful insight into microbrews and beer-making, get to taste a variety of different brews, and also learn a bit about old Portland. Our tour was small (possibly because it was a gray cold January day) which was an advantage to us! Level of knowledge presented was excellent and presented in an enjoyable way. Highly recommended.
The hunted beer tour was awesome. Adam did a great job and I learned a lot. Plus we got to sample some amazing beer.
Although two of the bars were closed (we went new years day so we should've planned better), we had an amazing time. Our guide was super funny but also very knowledgeable. We had a small group and think that we benefited from that because we all got to connect as we walked through town. Would love to do the tour again and go inside the places that were closed. All in all my wife and I loved it and have already recommended the tour to our friends that live in Portland.
We went on a 2pm tour with Tyler. He was early waiting for us with water and information about the tour. Tyler was excellent making sure every body kept up with him while we were walking and hearing the histories of Portland. His explanation of the brewing craft were interesting and informative! We were so surprised because at the end of the tour Tyler gave a small present to my boyfriend for his birthday and gave the rest of the group a chocolate. Thank you for the great tour and being so friendly! A great tour that I'm sure we'll do again!
Went on the 2:00 beer tour with Chris while my dad was visiting this weekend and had a great time! The tour was informative about beer, and informative about the older sites of portland too! It's great to know a little bit more about where I live. Fun fun!
Our tour guide was Adam. When we first arrived he was sitting inside Kells and at first we weren't sure if he was our tour guide. Luckily we saw another group check in with him so that got cleared up. Adam was super informative but not in a dull, boring way. He gave us a lot of information but I never felt impatient to get to the beer part. In fact, at times I forgot it was a beer tour! In a good way though, because I got caught up in the history and the stories. He was friendly, interactive, entertaining, and very knowledgeable. Kudos!
Was a fun walking tour- listening to some great history stories of portland. The only thing I wished that could of been added was being able to grab a slice of pizza at the pizza parlor. It smelled so great!
My husband and I visited Portland for the first time last week and took the Haunted Pub Crawl for fun! It was a blast. Tyler, our guide, was informative, professional and funny! I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for something unique to do.
