My fiance planned a wine weekend getaway for us and included Dark Horse Tasting Room on our itinerary and it was fantastic! I wanted to try some Sineann wines which is why he picked this spot but we ended up loving so many of the wines we tasted that we went well over our plan to buy no more than 4 bottles per location and bought a case. The location is easy to miss but super convenient, just off Rt 99 in Newberg. It's an unassuming place from the outside, with a wine bar (that we didn't have time to try) downstairs. The tasting room offered 15 different wines to taste on the day we visited. I'm not certain if they always offer so many but with so many producers to show I wouldn't be surprised if that's the norm. The tasting was $15, with the tasting fee waived with a two bottle purchase. It would be a little crazy if you couldn't find two bottles to purchase; it would have been difficult to narrow it down to only two, hence the case.We tasted a lot of great bottles, of course we tasted a number of pinots, some whites and some heavier reds. The biggest surprise was that the price points were VERY reasonable. Some of the best Sineann bottles were approaching $50 but there were plenty of great bottles in the $20-30 range. Linda was handling our tasting when we visited and she was a lot of fun. She was very knowledgeable, not only about the wines she was pouring, but about growing in Oregon, the differences in growing here vs. other regions and the differences from one AVA to another. She was a foodie as well so we enjoyed discussing detailed pairings for each taste. We will be back for sure and I'd highly recommend including this spot on your next trip to wine country.
