Not only will you get a chance to taste a wide variety of wines but you will also get a lesson on soils and how the affect the wine types. very unique place since there are so many types of naturally ocuring soils in the area
We had some time in between wine tastings, so we decided to stop at Alexana. It was our first time, and definitely won't be our last! Loved the wine and story behind the winery. Signed up for their wine club on the spot. It's on our list for our next trip, for sure!
A recommendation from guests we met at another vineyard. So glad we visited Alexana. Fantastic wines, very knowledgable staff who really took the time to educate and share the intricacies of their wines. So good, we even joined the wine club! Some of the best Pinots in the valley. Highly recommend you make this one of the first stops on your list. No outside food allowed, due to some ordinances - so don't plan a picnic there. But we go over that and nonetheless, enjoyed the fabulous wines of Alexana.
We were fortunate enough to be able to attend one of the summer Friday luncheons at Alexana. Should you ever get the opportunity to do this, don't hesitate for a moment! We had an amuse bouche and four courses, each more delicious than the last, all paired with Alexana wines...this was a food and wine lover's dream come true! We very much liked all the wines, but especially the rose of pinot noir and the estate pinot noir...and, of course, had to take some home with us! We were accompanied by the wine maker and others on the staff and able to ask questions to our hearts' content. This was truly an experience that we'll remember for a very long time. The winery itself is a lovely property, worthy of seeking out...great views, with comfortable, stylish outdoor furniture on which to enjoy it. The tasting bar is in a sleek, attractive building and the staff is friendly and informative. We really liked our time at Alexana and think you would, too!
Nice off the beaten path location. Impressive building. Knowledgable staff. The wines just did not really resonate with us, but we did not mind paying the fee. I would recommend to others with slightly different pinot preferences.
This winery is in a beautiful location on a hill in a gorgeous Napa "esque" tasting room. The wines are delightful, and we enjoyed our tasting. Unlike many tasting rooms in Napa, however, where the fee is waived if you buy a bottle, here one fee is waived for every $100 spent, thereby assuring most casual tasters will pay the fee. Not a big fan of that policy as we usually buy a couple bottles wherever we go at least, and even though the price points here are on the slightly higher side, 2 bottles didn't cover even one of our two tasting fees.
The wine was excellent! The wonderful view from the balcony, overlooking the vineyard, was the icing on the cake! We sat there and enjoyed the bottle we bought. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable . We absolutely loved Carly...so cute! This winery is a must!
We visited Alexana this past July and have been remiss in posting. We have enjoyed both Alexana and Revana wines and decided to visit the Alexana Winery. We contacted the Winery to schedule a visit. Amber Sagnotti replied to our email promptly and not only scheduled our visit, but also recommended area restaurants. The Winery is beautiful, the wines were excellent, and Amber a most gracious host. We participate in the annual wine allocations and are extremely pleased with the offerings. We would highly recommend the not only visiting the Alexana Winery but also obtaining the wines, excellent.
Alexana was recommended to us by our Inn Keeper and we are so glad it was. The building was beautiful and the views were breathtaking! It was a beautiful day and we did the wine tasting outside which was perfect! The wines were wonderful and it was a great experience! I would highly recommend!
Really great venue, beautiful wines and we loved hearing about the different soils (a cross section of which is featured in the tasting room). The wines are considerably more expensive than some of the other wineries but the tasting experience and quality of the pinot noirs made it worth while to find this gem (it isn't on the wine map but there is good signage).
