Pretty easy drive and it is very pretty - Skiing looks good but we just hiked on a late fall day. Will be back to give the skiing a go if we ever get any snow.

Sure, it's a popular ski resort, but I love coming here in the other seasons, especially summer when the skies clear and the hiking trails are fun. The resort is closed so hit the loo before you go and be prepared to make discrete pit-stops along your way. Amazing views from the road, parking lot, even if you don't take the trails.

Feeling like a walk either summer when it is supposed to be closed or the winter when it is not. I'm not a skier or boarder but just like the views, whether from the windy top or from the south or west side. Sometimes if it was sunny, we would even take folding chairs to sit in the warm sun and enjoy!!

It was a clear day so I enjoyed taking a drive to the ski area of Mount Ashland. There are scenic views of forest, mountains, and the road ends at the ski resort. While it was September and not ski season yet, it was still a very enjoyable morning drive to make. There are places along the road to also take a hike if interested.

Mount Ashland is the local ski area in winter. There are a variety of slopes of all different levels named after Shakespearean characters! There is a small lodge with restaurant and grill on site. In the summer it is a great place to hike. There has still been some snow on the ground in June so we had a summer snowball fight! The lodge is closed during the summer and there are limited bathroom facilities. A nice day trip away from Ashland.

Just a few minutes drive above Ashland via I-5, Mount Ashland is a peaceful retreat any time of year. On our recent July visit we continued on the gravel road past the main parking area to access meadows bedecked with a wide array of wild flowers and native grasses. While much can be seen from the road, a network of trails offers an up close and personal experience in return for a little extra effort.

Attended a wedding at Mt. Ashland. It was the perfect venue. The scenery was beautiful, the staff was accommodating (and showed an impressive attention to detail) and the lodge worked well for both dining and dancing. I highly recommend Mt. Ashland for any gathering. Hints: Wear sunscreen and be aware that there are bugs. Dancing in the ballroom before sunset was hot because of the large windows, but it was fabulous after sunset. If you are dancing earlier in the day, I suggest setting up the band downstairs or on one of the balconies where it is cooler. Do not forget to bring a camera. One of the coolest photos was of the lights in the city of Ashland after dark.

My family and I made the trek to Mount A this year and it was wonderful. Bring a trail map so you can walk along the PCT for a bit and will still be able to find your way back! Some breathtaking views and pristine nature await you.

My kids love to ski, board here. I think it is short and steep. A really friendly crowd, and a nice bunny slope.

Mt. Ashland offers a great skiing experience. The runs are somewhat limited for the beginner. So many resorts are set up for the skier that never transcends the beginner level. Not Mt. Ashland. There are a few good beginner runs and a number of intermediate and advanced runs. Lift lines are non-existent and the lodge is wonderful. Not in an upscale over the top way but in a great family friendly way. SACK LUNCHES ALLOWED. Really. and you don't have to go down to the basement or eat your sack lunch in the car. If you don't want to pack your own lunch, you can order a reasonably priced lunch. As far as I know the Ski Ashland lodge is the only ski area lodge in the State of Oregon where you can sit down and have a beer while eating lunch with your children. Mt Ashland provided an excellent area to teach my children to ski. It is intimate enough to let them find there way around on their own without too many worries.

The mountain has lovely views of the valley and Mt. Shasta. There are many places to stop and take pictures. When the road gets too rough, you can walk to the top. We were here in early fall so the lift wasn't open yet. It's an easy drive from Ashland and you have to go if you are in the area.

The ski park looks quite limited, but just for the views of the Shasta Valley and Mount Shasta to the south, it is worth the side excursion of driving up to the top.

Mt. Ashland is just a 30 minute drive south of Ashland. There are plenty of places to stop and drink in the beauty. You can climb all the way to the top and have a 360* view.Great with a picnic.

From Mt. Ashland, you can easily access the Pacific Crest Trail and have some beautiful hikes with gorgeous views. We went to the top and could see Mt. Shasta and the Cascades in August.

On this trip we took a short side trip and drove up to the Mt. Ashland ski bowl. Now that the smoke from the summer fires has cleared the views are breathtaking. Well worth the time!
