One of the funnest tracks I have played in some time. Especially if you're trying to get off-off the strip and still want to golf. It's on the border of California and Nevada, but definitely worth the trip out there. Recommend to anyone.
We played the desert side and it just came out of overseeding and there were still several dead spots on the course especially in the fairways. Besides all the dead spots, the course looked nice and the greens were in good shape. The ball rolled nice and the greens were holding pretty good. They no longer have a course marshal and the pace of play was extremely slow and the course didn't do nothing to pick up the pace of play. Our tee time was like 10:50 am and I would play this course again but it would have to be first thing in the morning.
After I got a rather condescending lecture about how important pace if play is after I enquired about walkingThe course let a 5some out in front of us finished 35 minutes later than we should have cause there was no ranger ever during 18 holesFor $75 each with fairways in terrible shape we won't go back
I could not rave enough about this golf course, we were staying in Primm and on the spur of the moment decided to see if we could play a round. Sorted it out in seconds flat for the following day.We hired clubs and I could not believe that they provided a full set of Callaway X2 clubs plus tees, cold water, towel, Esky, GPS and all for a pittance. The staff were exceptional and could not do enough for us.The Lakes course was in magnificent shape, lush fairways, soft greens and an absolute pleasure to play. Then of course the obligatory celebration at the glorious 19th hole.
we were on vacation in Vegas - decided to play at Primm Valley desert course due to competitive price. it was definitely worth a drive from the sin city and I would recommend a place. staff is very attentive. a few times during our round we had an opportunity to buy water/soda - there was a person driving around with cold beverages. golf course is in a good condition, greens just perfect. I have no comparison to other courses in the US as only played two of them and my local golf courses are in Scotland.
Primm Valley is a great course for players of all levels. The Ladies get a great advantage from the green tees. Overall, the Lakes is one of the most beautiful golf courses I have ever played.
I read a lot of reviews about the conditions of the desert course before we went, but played it anyhow. there were bad sections in some parts of the fairways, and some spotty areas on some of the greens, but not as bad as i thought it would be. we had the whole course to ourselves pretty much. The layout of this track was impressive. the only distraction was the three Solar farms next door. all in all i definitely will go back.
Played the desert course last week, oct 24, and hate to say it was not in very good shape. Greens bumpy and fairways not very green. Very slow play and the couple we were with had trouble with the golf cart on the 12th hole. Got a hold of the clubhouse and we were asked to push it for a half a hole and they would try to get someone out. Needless to say we were on the 16th hole before someone came out with another cart!! This was after another call from the cart girl who came by when we were teeing off number 16!! Very frustrating. Even with our cart troubles we still waited to tee off at every hole!!!! The clubhouse staff could have cared less when we got in and asked them about it!! The course is very nicely laid out and Im sure beautiful when the course is in great shape, but it wasn't when we golfed there. Golfed at Rhodes Ranch in Vegas for cheaper and the course was immaculate, wished we had gone back there rather than driving out to Primm Valley.
Played 18 holes on the Lakes Course, then 9 holes on the Desert Course. The layout for both courses can be challenging on whatever level you choose to compete (four sets of tee boxes). The course was not in as good of condition that it has been in the past, especially the Desert Course. Staff was congenial. The cart lady made several stops during both of our rounds, adequate snacks and beverages. Practice facility is good. Reasonable views of the mountains and the "IVANPAH Solar Electric Generating System" which is very nearby.
Tried to play this course today. Quit after 13 holes. After the first hole had to wait at every tee for the group in front. In front of them was a FIVESOME!! Never saw a ranger. Complained to management in the pro shop and was offered a nine hole rain check. Do they actually believe I would like to return?
The course was challenging with lots of water on most of the holes. The tee boxes to the greens were in fabulous shape the staff was great from the cart girl to the pro shop everyone was great. Well worth the ride out from Las Vegas. Jerry Ehrlich from the Great City of Philadelphia
I've been playing Primm since it opened in the 90's. I have probably 50 rounds there at both courses and the one thing you could count on was a well conditioned course. I understand they recently punched the greens, but that still doesn't excuse the bumpiness of the greens. They were also very slow despite looking like they had heeled from the punching. There was no sand in the bunkers and 5 or 6 of our sand shots were bladed over the green, we're decent golfers too. Weeds growing in the bunkers, the fairway approaching 2nd green need to be torn up and replaced. Lots of issues with this place that handn't been there before.
I have played both the desert and lakes courses and they are both excellent. It is amazing on the lakes course to feel you are not in the desert. The desert course is everything you would expect it to be and is really my favorite. I have played these courses many times over the past ten years. You can generally get a package to include golf and a stay at one of the three casinos at Primm (Primm Valley, Whiskey Pete's, and Buffalo Bills) at a VERY good rate. Check it out. Usually three days two nights with two days of golf. These are expensive courses to play but the package cuts it to nearly nothing when you consider the room is included. Reservations are easy to make if you just want to play for a day. The only concern is the time of year. It can get very cold in winter and very hot in summer so you have to suit yourself. Spring and fall and the transitions to and from each are ideal. Great deals for early morning golf are available in the summer. The staff at the golf club are great and very helpful. The golf shop has a lot of neat stuff so take a look around. Starters may be among the friendliest and most helpful I have ever met. Usually older retired guys who just love golf and make you feel very welcome. The courses are located just off the side road about six miles west of stateline and the Primm casinos. YOU CANNOT SEE THEM.... no they are not a mirage...they are there but the lakes course has a very high bank covered with grass all around so you cannot see the courses. However, they are there in all their glory and the treasure hunt is worth it. These courses are very well maintained, unique and really something you should not miss. Enjoy
We took a drive out to Primm Valley from Las Vegas for a round of golf one day. This course is actually in California, but barely. The early morning time worked out well and the course is very well maintained. If you are in the area I recommend this course.
Hee hee...I didn't play so I can't comment on the course. But I did hang out in the lobby, restaurant, patio and parking lot for four hours while Hubby played. And I enjoyed it. Very comfy lobby with big leather chairs were a perfect place to finish a book I'd been working on forever. Good lunch, super friendly people working there, lovely grounds, nice restrooms. Stateline, or Primm, whatever they call it, is not far away with casinos and the outlet mall but I didn't feel like being in all that craziness so I just hung out at the golf course and had a lovely, quiet afternoon.
