Where do I start? Parking in the garage looked as though we were in ghetto in a huge city that could not contain the garbage nor the smell from bums urinating. The elevators were filthy. When we finally got to the lawn area a nut drunk lady was telling us about an accident she had on the freeway that day and how she fled the scene because she had to much to drink. We were hoping to lose her in the crowd but there was no crowd. It was a beautiful sunny day and no life to speak of. All but 2 retail shops and a handful of restaurants. The service was horrible in the Pub after waiting 15 minutes for the beer my husband ordered I approach the server and he said it had slipped his mind. The Pub was empty! We ordered coffee at the coffee house that also was a joke. The cappuccino was as ok but no way did the guy know how to steam milk. The desserts looked like they had been sitting there for a week. No one is trying there every body seems they have just given up. I wish we had stayed home, it's too depressing.

This is a lovely setting with a quaint Mediterranean style village, but there are many vacancies for the shops. There is new house construction nearby so it may be on the upswing, but not much happening here other than the pretty views.

Take an inexpensive trip to Lake Las Vegas, you'll be glad you did. You should book early get good deals and take the entire family. We were greeted at the front desk with a grand smile, hardy hello, and speedy service. Manager Rodney Arnett was very gracious and professional as he gave us needed information and direction. Our customer service representative allowed us to check in two hours before regular check in time. The very spacious Moroccan decorated room was beautifully inspiring, very "smooth and soothing" . The room was furnished with a Large California King size bed, large flat screen tv, very nice desk w/chair, a lounge chair, with a 7th floor view. It was absolutely wonderful. The temperature for the three days averaged 60 degrees with sunshine each day. It was great sweater or light jacket weather, remember it's January. The amenities are great, there are water sports, boating, swimming, hiking , golf, and great dining. Your body can be professionally massaged with fragrant oils, give hands and feet a paraffin treatment, it's a fantastic body gift given to yourself. Finally, the best of the best for its offering of service, serenity, and beauty for the entire family. Just 17 miles away is the strip, loud traffic, loud people, and lots of fun of course, but Lake Las Vegas allow you to be so close to the noise yet away for peace and quiet. You should make you reservations and visit, now is the time.

Although man-made, the lake is a respite from the desert and offers space for water sports. Walking/running path around the lake too.

We decided to go check out Lake Las Vegas on our way to the airport (I had almost booked a two night stay there) to see if it was a potentially future place to stay. The buildings look so nice, everything of a good quality, the whole area very tidy, especially liked the local version of Florence's Ponte Vechio - but where are the people. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and the place was deserted. Almost everywhere was closed. It made you wonder just how it all survives commercially, is the location primarily for folks who play golf?We cut our visit short. So hope that I am wrong in my own view point.

Just played reflection bay at lake Las Vegas. It was ausome. Had lunch in the club house, service and food were great. Very helpful land friendly staff. The course was closed for 7 years and reopened in November 2014, it is in great shape. Hope this is a new beginning for a great place.

Nothing open, very sad. Such a beautiful area, but almost every shop etc is vacant. This used to be such a great place to visit.

There may be people behind the gated community parts of this area, but the 3 hotel resorts that are trying to make a go of it here seem pretty quiet. As for the shopping Village - we saw no shops open but they are not made easy to get to - but from what we saw - there are no shops open. The casino is still closed. Perhaps during summer there is more happening here. We were there right before Christmas. It's pretty far from the Strip, so other than golf or the lake or wanting someplace REALLY QUIET, I would not see the attraction of staying at one of the hotels here. I wish them good luck.

Are you looking for a beautiful area that offers many family activities and no gambling? Then look no further than Lake Las Vegas. With the Westin, Hilton and Aston on the shore line, there are so many things to do it would take a week to do them all.

This is a beautiful setting that struggles to find enough people to keep stores and restaurants. They have the prettiest setting, outdoor events and the stores and restaurants that are still here are high quality. They never really catered to locals except for wine walks and beer tastings. Hopefully they will find a way to bring more people in and the place will again be a livelier place to visit.

If you are not into the full on pace of the strip this is a perfect place to stay. Pleasant views over the water and close to some of the outer attractions such as Hoover Dam

We had a day to spend, but there was not much to do except strolling in the village. Hotels were nice not swarmed with people. We had to wait for 45 minutes to get a pasta and pizza at one of the restaurants by the lake. Casinos are casinos: smelling smoke! It was best at night with lights and a few more people. It is possible to bike, boat, and paddle, but we preferred to hike instead by the lake.

However at least 50% of the restaurants and shops are closed down at the moment. And the ones that are open are VERY pricey.

This is a very tough review to write because there are very different ways to look at this area. I have been here many, many times - some for business and some for personal reasons. From a business perspective, I am planning an annual conference here in January for the company I work for because it's such a beautiful location and so different from the typical Vegas that everyone knows. I love that it is its own unique little village with enough going on that you don't have to leave. All 3 properties on site are great in my opinion. I have had family stay at the Westin which is as nice of a resort property as I've seen anywhere. The grounds are beautiful with lots to do when the weather is nice. The Aston is really unique and can be a great place too for a vacation stay and you get a lot for your money there, as long as you can let go of the "typical" hotel setting. I love the Village atmosphere with the little shops and restaurants with live music and other goings on throughout the year. AND, it's only a short drive away to get back to other stuff - like casinos. Fiesta is only 10 minutes away and the Strip is about 25-30 min. Now the negative parts. Unfortunately, the property went bankrupt and they have undergone some changes. The casino closed and although it was supposed to open this Fall, no such luck. They did re-open the golf course which is nice. Many of the shops and business couldn't make it due to less traffic so the Village has suffered a bit. So it depends on what you want your stay to be like. If you want something A-typical and really different, and you don't need a lot of activity to make you happy, this is a great place. They even have hiking trails for walks, paddle boats, kayaks, and a cruise on the yacht around the lake might be nice too. But if you need a lot of Vegas nightlife and lots to do, I don't suggest it unless you are willing to drive to that kind of setting and come back at night.

Beautiful area with lots of potential but unfortunately inactive at this time due to poor economy. Hope to see it develop and attract visitors--we would go back there to stay once they re-open.
