We did a bike ride from a nearby rental location (Shoreline) which we highly recommend. The path brings you to the beach. There were few people there midweek. The views are breathtaking. Definitely recommend stopping here.
During our last trip out to Reno, we spent a day in California as well and our 5 year old remembered going to the beach and looking for shells & she wanted to do it again, but we didn't have the time to go to CA. We resolved to go to Tahoe and see what we could see. We drove around Tahoe looking for a public beach hoping for a free one, but couldn't find one. We finally decided on Nevada beach where we were charged $8 upon entry. We were able to park close to the beach and walk down. It was beautiful and clean. While there were plenty of rocks & pebbles there weren't any shells, but that didn't dampen my daughters good time. She jumped in the cool water and waded for a while & out 11 mo old twins enjoyed getting their feet wet. For our next Reno trip, we'll probably return with picnic in hand and more time to devote to this beach.
We spent 2 hours with family and friends in this beach, just 10 minutes Car ride from Lake Tahoe. It is one of the beautiful beaches I visited so far. Beach water is very clean and much transparent. Lots of good sand. kids as well as elders can enjoy playing games.Water is much tasty. Less crowded.beach.You can park your car near to the beach. Parking fee is USD8/.
The Forest Sercice doesn't allow dogs on Nevada Beach per se, but they do provide easy access to the beautiful dog beach on County land immediately to the South. You can pay to park in their beach front parking lots, then follow the painted paw prints on the paved path at the South end of the lots. You will skirt the edge of the campground and within a couple hundred hards will be at the dog beach. We also went to the dog beach at Kiva Beach. It was nice, but Nevada Beach is cleaner, the water is clearer, and access is easier. Most dogs are off leash and very well behaved. Our lab/retriever mix had a blast! Be a responsible owner and pick up after your pet and keep an eye on them as they play.
Parking is a challenge on the Fourth of July, but it was well worth the walk. Absolutely beautiful!!!
We spent the night before the 4.7 at the beach. It is a beautiful sandy and quiet beach with trees and picnic tables . The water is amazingly freezing and transparent. The stuff helped us a lot by being flexible and nice . Thanks to the "rangers" here we had a great experience in lake Tahoe ! Tnx!
A very nice beach on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe, located behind the Wyndham Resort we were staying in. Nice walk down the road from the hotel. The beach is very pretty, loved the fresh air by the Lake. Worth coming and spending some time here.
Pure beauty! Crystal clear blue Lake Tahoe is the backdrop of this incredible beach. Large, gorgeous, clean beach, clean restrooms, lots of picnic tables and grills. Amazing getaway for a picnic and a relaxing day. Mind-blowing scenery!! I truly feel this beach is indeed a "hidden gem". During the summer there is a vendor in the parking lot that sells various food items (I'm not sure what all they have since we brought a gourmet picnic with us....yummy!)
plan on bringing a fly swatter, trying to have a small picnic when unfriendly, uninvited guests show up, while your desperately trying to eat your Subway sandwiches with a date, can't get to cozy, your feather friends will end your Blind Date.
Lots o' sand!!...a real beach!! :)Met a lot of really good people just trying to 'get away from it all'. Talked to some of the rangers there and they were really friendly. My new bride and I rode bikes around the camp grounds and asked questions of some of the other tourists. Very 'mellow' place and really enjoyed our stay!!
The white sand beach is very clean, sparkling clear water.. Stunning views of the lake and Sierra. There are a lot of picnic tables, some in the shade. There is also a covered area of tables that can be reserved for large groups. Very clean/new restroom facilities. Handicap accessibility is very good with a boardwalk from parking area to beach. The $7 parking fee helps keep beach and facilities clean, well worth it,
Enjoy the lake view while sunbathing or just family fun. Nice sandy beach. It costs $7 to park for the day. Walk-in is free. A nice place to visit while visiting Lake Tahoe.
There are two ways to enjoy Nevada Beach, camping and day-use. You can either make reservations to camp there, or pay for a single-day use permit. For the single day visitor that enjoys an easy, picturesque walk/hike, park in the lot off of Kahle Drive and Lake Tahoe Blvd (it's free). The walk is flat (no hills), runs along Burke Creek amidst lots of trees. In the fall, many of the trees turn a beautiful color of yellow/gold.My husband and I always take this walk when in the South Lake Tahoe area.***We were there the first week of October 2012 and the parking lot was under construction. It looks like the city is putting in a new parking lot, adding a paved path and new bridge.**
Nothing like Zephyr Cove... it's very expansive in size. If you have a family, this is the beach.
Nevada Beach, NV. NO CROWDS, NICE SANDY BEACH, Walk in Free, drive in 7 dollars. The North end is new with nice clean rest rooms new picnic tables some in shade from tall pin trees some close to the lake. Wyndham resort is 1.5 miles from resort to Nevada Beach Safeway grocery store gas station is across the hwy about 2 miles, South Shore Lake Tahoe about 5 miles. If you go up the Heavenly Gondola Note the ZIP line is Closed till next year. The Fire works could be seen all around the Lake, north shore and south shore fireworks were set off from barges, We sat at the shore line edge right on the lake and watched a wonderful show. First North shore shot up their fire works around 8:45pm, then at 9:45 pm South shore shot up their fire works and smaller resorts around the lake shot up their fire works. The camp ground looked nice except the noise from RV Generators running. We stayed at the Wyndham South Shore Resort. 1.5 miles up the road and walked to the beach.
