Near the University of Nevada, this park has everything from outdoor space to a museum. Every September it is home to the Reno Balloon Races. Locals use it for running, walking, dogs, kids...in other words, fun.

We love RSR but some ( a lot) of the people who take their dogs to the park are pigs. There is dog poop everywhere in and outside of the dog park. I even pointed out an offender to one of the park personnel and he said there was nothing he could do. The park has a bad rep with vets because of several parvovirus outbreaks due to unsanitary conditions. Not sure what can be done...park workers need the authority to enforce the laws / statutes. Otherwise the museum & buildings are very nice.

This park was my backyard and I spent a lot of time wandering and purposely walking through the grounds. Take your bike and access the canyons thru the tunnel under McCarran Blvd.Take your dog to the off-leash dog park that generally has a large pond/flood irrigation tank for dog's dipping (can be full of nasty germs make sure your pup is healthy). Take your discs out and play on the course; access it thru the tunnel under McCarran Blvd as well. Watch a bike race, human foot race, wedding, BBQ, try and book the Pagoda for a family reunion, run the fit course, go to the museum. Plenty of stuff to do in an afternoon.

There is a huge, and I mean really huge dog park that includes a pond. My dogs love this park. The Hot Air Balloon Races start from this park once a year, so you can imagine how gigantic it is.There are docent led walks through the botanical garden section that are amazing, particularly in the fall. Plenty of sites for excellent photos and also for weddings and the like. The museum is small but excellent and has showing of many types of things throughout the year. I am fond of the Wild Woman Exhibition. There is a bamboo garden, walkways, and all kinds of lovely things to see. You can spend hours at this park, even if you don't go to the god park section, strolling around and admiring the different types of gardens.

This is a great outdoor park for enjoying Reno's great weather. Lots of open space, dog park, ponds, trails, frisbee golf, and hosts events like the hot air balloon races.

My two children and I visited on a free afternoon. This park is a nice green space in Reno . There are a few different sections of different types of plants. My kids really enjoyed the nature walk. We did get a little lost but soon found out way out.

Walking paths, playground, huge dinosaurs for the kids, well manicured gardens for the adults! Enjoy an afternoon wandering around the park! On a hot day, there is plenty of shade here!

Attended a birthday party for a 6 year old there. Plenty of things for kids to do and plenty of tables to sit at.

If you're looking for a peaceful place to walk and enjoy the sounds and sights of birds, rabbits, lizards, dragonflies, butterflies, bees and ducks while walking the paths - this is the place! To enjoy the views of the park take the trails up into the Groves. Walk along the pond to visit the ducks. Sit on the many benches throughout the gardens and take in the views. If you park at the first parking lot to your right check out the Labyrinth Garden that's outside the garden gates. The paths are easy to walk on and children will love exploring!

We wandered through this park for quite some time because there was SOOO much to see ! Peace and tranquility while learning and exploring a new setting. The only portion we did not take part in was the museum as the weather was perfect.

A wonderful open space for dogs to run off leash. In the summer there is fresh water for them to swim in the canal. A tunnel links you to open space and miles of hiking and biking. Bird life is busy, owls nest there every year,Plenty place for picnics and events. The museum is fun too.

This park boasts a large dog park; indeed probably the biggest in the whole area. However, they water the grass by flooding it, so basically it is a mud pit. My dog and I left covered in mud. Also, although dogs are allowed in certain parts of the park, you cannot walk your dog through the park to get to the dog park. You are only allowed to go through a certain area. I have attended a wedding here many years ago, and it was beautiful, so that is nice.

We gathered at Peavine Pavillion and had a great time. There were things for the kids and the adults just enjoyed being together. The photos turned out great in this wonderful setting.

A beautiful park near the University! Lots of room to run. I think dogs are allowed too!Fourth of July fireworks sometimes set off here too.

This is a wonderful dog park, where most owners are mindful of their pet's behavior. Some owners do not keep an eye on their pet, and this can cause trouble for other dogs. But don't let a few bad apples discourage you. Across to the unrestricted area is across the road and a tunnel connects the two areas. Please be mindful of wildlife when you are in the unrestricted area. BIking and hiking is plentiful in this area; bring water for all activities. Inside the park they have lovely gardens and a museum that are treasures to explore. No matter what the season, the park is a great place to go with your family, pets, and out-of-town guests. .The park is free, and there is a low cost for the museum.
