Both courses are fun and challenging. We showed up with 5 and convinced them to let us play as a 5some(HAD A LOCAL MEMBER WITH US). After the second hole, we never saw the 4some behind us. Finished just after noon and asked about a reround - they sent us out immediately! We can eat later. Overall, a great day with friends, on an excellent venue.
Both courses are challenging to play but provide good opportunity for scoring. Not sure why hole number one has to be cart path only as that seems to delay starting times but overall pace was very good. Courses in good condition.
We played the Canyons. Great course. Lot of elevated tees, but not many blind shots from the tee. Good condition, Would play again.
Played both the Palmer and Canyon on the same day. Pretty good shape with slow greens. Golf Now with a replay got both courses for $45. Staff was nice and helpful. My preference would be towards the Palmer for better design. I don't think the Canyon warrants such a greater slope rating.
Fun course and in good shape. All the courses in Mesquite are challenging yet very playable. Mesquite is one if the hidden gems golf vacation destination in the country.
My husband and I played both the Palmer and Canyon courses a couple of years ago and played them several times again this summer because they are so much fun. Both courses are very playable for all levels of golfers.
The Oasis Golf Club has two solid tracks. The Palmer course gets all the attention, but I actually think the Canyons course is more fun.I enjoy the elevated tee boxes and trips through the canyons. Both are a challenge, though I think they pay more attention to keeping the Palmer course in better shape.I'm in Mesquite every year once of twice and I put these courses behind Wolf Creek and Connestoga, about the same as Falcon Ridge and Cadablanca. The courses are good, just not on my must play list.
A scenic desert course surrounded by properties. A fair golf course for low & high handicappers. Good service from the Pro Shop, Driving Range & Food Service Staff.
Bring some extra golf balls and your camera, a MUST play course ALWAY in GREAT shape and Adam the golf pro can help your short game!
People were friendly, the holes were gorgeous. But the greens weren't in the best shape but still rolled pretty true. The white tee boxes weren't very level, either, but the overall experience was great. And lunch after the round was terrific.
We started out our trip playing 18 on the Palmer Oasis course on a Wednesday afternoon. First, the positives... the course was in unbelievable condition. It could not have been better taken care of. The holes were very interesting. 2 of 8 guys put this course in 2nd place after Wolf Creek and better that Falcon Ridge and Conestoga. Now, the bad.. While we were on hole 10, and approximately 530pm, my cart started having terrible issues running. We attempted to call the pro shop for the next 4 holes while our cart would go up even the smallest slope on the course. When we finally saw a ranger, it took another 3 holes with a cart that hardly ran because he said everyone at the pro shop went home and closed for the day. When someone returned with a new cart, they blamed the not working cart on "you guys are playing too slow." While I would admit we were not having the fastest round ever played, we had 8 guys playing a tournament on the first day of our yearly trip, on a course with blind shots, with no other groups being held up as we were playing a SCRAMBLE and had to deal with a broken cart for 6 holes without any assistance. There was also not cart girl service either. I have never been on a course that the pro shop closed in the middle of the day while players still had 2 hours of daylight left to play. The course is 4 stars. The service 1 star. My 3 rating is based on all of the above.
Shopped hard for price - did well on "Golf Now" site early afternoon about 1/2 price. Course and greens are in very good condition for a higher end course. Found it not too tough for us as average golfers(about 15 handicap shooting gold tee offs), some of the views and T offs are stunning,, A very pleasant experience overall.
we got off on time, and everything just ran smoothly. this golf course compared to the other places we placed, was a golf course, without steep tee-boxes, without steep cart paths. jus not as much to wear you out. just in great shape. the young lady behind the counter, was great great. was a pleasant person she was.
We drove in and thought, "What are we doing here?" Our option changed pretty quickly. After the first couple warm up holes, we entered some very pretty canyon holes. The fairways narrowed, the wind picked up, and the course had our undivided attention! The course is short on paper, but the wind always seems to be in your face and more than half the holes are uphill! Don't base your tee selection solely on yardage. Oasis is fun, reasonably priced, and a great warm-up for the big name canyon courses in the area. If you are looking for a fun course that will introduce you to Mesquite area golf, you won't go wrong with Oasis!
We played the Palmer course last weekend and it was in great shape and what a beautiful day. The nice green fairways were in great shape and could take a decent divot and get a little action on the ball. The greens were in great shape too and the ball rolled really nice. The only problem was the deep rough that the grass is dormant for the winter was really hard to get out of so stay in the fairways. I would play this course again.
