awarii dunes golf club

So to experience Awarii dunes is to experience a great links style course, and some VERY undulating greens. At times I was looking for the windmill or gators mouth, but the greens were soft and true. I liked the course, it has some great challenges, and the layout really messes with your perception of the course. The visual challenge is part of the fun, and you swear there was not enough fairway until you move forward and see it was hiding behind a berm or bunker that blocked your perception. We have played the course a couple of times, and I am not sure that I would head back to Kearney to play the course on it's on merit, but as a new course with "Play the West" we may add it to the mix again.

We went out with our family for a golf weekend with friends. The owners were there and soooo accommodating! We have gone to Nebraska for years to visit family and I never knew this little piece of heaven existed. Though this links style golf course is surrounded by cornfields it feels as though your in a prairie with gently rolling hills and a never ending sky. Designed by Jim Engh, it is adequately challenging even for the most experienced golfer yet playable for those of us with higher handicaps. I loved how on each hole it felt like you were the only one around for a hundred miles. It was reasonably full our first day and we never felt backed up or pressured. My husband and I decided to go out the next morning for one more round before driving home and I truly have never seen anything as beautiful as the seeds from one of the many plants covering the golf course glistening in the sun. I can't wait to go again this year.

Just outside Kearney is this great course that offers everything to both the experienced and armature golfer. The challenging greens are fun to navigate and reward accordingly for carefully calculated shots. I especially enjoyed the drives off the box and the up and down hills offer constant entertainment. I was lucky enough to spend a weekend playing this amazing course. Over the course of 4 days, I played 72 holes & really got to experience all of what Awarii can offer. It's a spectacular course that really gives the golfer a feel of what it might be like playing in Ireland in a true links style. The course was in immaculate shape with pristine fairways, greens, & boxes. It's super challenging but still very fair. The staff was super friendly & genuinely seemed excited that we came to try out their course. Personally, I even enjoyed the little things like music playing while hitting on the range, lightning bugs as we tried to finish an evening nine, and a super steak as we took in the evening entertainment on a Friday night. I hope you can tell that I LOVED this golfing experience & highly recommend this wonderful course!

Was here in May 2014 and the course was in absolute terrible condition in my opinion. Then was told by an employee they have planted a poor grass for the environment that they are in but refuse to switch to a grass suited for the area. The course layout is ok but nothing like wild horse or bayside!! Was not offered a free round for the poor conditions they told us to come back but did not offer it for free.
