Brewers is a great outfitter for kayaks, tubes, tanks and canoes on the Niobrara River in the Nebraska Sandhills. We made arrangements in advance via phone. You can easily book a trip on line, but we had not been down the Niobrara before so we called to make sure we understood our options. Mary was extremely helpful and friendly. We met with Mary in Valentine the morning of our scheduled launch. Their in-town office was within walking distance of our hotel. Mary gave us detailed information about our trip, thoroughly marked a map with each bridge we'd pass so we never felt lost. We were on a motorcycle trip, so they picked us up at our hotel so we didn't have to ride and park our bike on gravel roads. They took us out of town to the launch site where our kayaks were ready. Once we exited at the pre-arranged bridge, there were quite a few people waiting for the 4:30pm pick up. Be prepared to be patient for the pick up. They coordinate multiple pick ups at various locations along the river. We didn't expect to be picked up the second we got out of the water, but it did take a bit longer than we anticipated. The driver took us back to our hotel and dropped us off at the front door. It was a terrific experience! The Niobrara River is so beautiful and peaceful. We went on a Sunday, and we were basically alone on the river for the first two hours. Saturdays can be crazy, Mary noted we chose wisely by avoiding the Saturday party crowds!
