This is one of Omaha's true gems. During the spring and summer, the gardens just flourish with beauty, but they do a really good job of having exhibits all year round, like the poinsettia display around Christmas. Now through April 26th, the have a creative Legos display, with a few dozen plants and animals done in Legos throughout the gardens. The relatively new conservatory is well done and really nice to stroll through. I love to visit this place a few times a year so I don't miss anything!
We went from never having gone to being members in a month! Love the new conservatory and how it is set up. We did walk the grounds, which are quiet and serene in the winter months. Can't wait for the weather to warm up sow can see all the grounds alive in color (and the garden railroad in action!). The current lego displays are really interesting. Loved searching for the little lego creatures in the conservatory.
You can take a tram tour which is nice and informative. They take you up to the overlook where they have 2 old locomotives. These are neat. The gardens are beautiful. If you do not take the tram be ready for lots of walking. This place is big! Nice gift shop area too! They are also adding some greenhouses, not sure if they are open yet but excited to see.
With the new addition, it's more of a must see than ever! The music in the summer/fall is my fav and the special indoor events...any time of year it's a magical place. This place is very special, please stop by and slow down and warm up, if needed!
A wonderful break in the urban atmosphere. A unique setting on the bluffs overlooking the river. One of the few places I've been where the parking lot view is worth the drive.
We saw the Marjorie K. Conservar from I80 and decided to visit on a sunny windy winter afternoon. The Water features and well designed glass house are fun to roam and we enjoyed taking photos of the interesting plants. We hiked the Gardens and even without blooms it was an enjoyable walk.As an added bonus we got to see the gaint Lego art. A wonderful way to get a break from driving. Well worth the Time and admission fee.
I have been a member of the Garden for many years. It is a jewel and is somewhere I always take visitors. With the new greenhouses the Garden is wonderful in the winter as well as in spring, summer, and fall. Not to be missed if you are a plant lover.
Very nice gardens and facilities. We didn't know we were showing up on Doggies at the Garden day. There were hundreds of dogs and their owners...not that I don't like dogs, but it was very crowded. We'll go again sometime but will check ahead for events to see or avoid!
Visited Lauritzen for the Lego exhibit and also the recently opened conservatory. It is well worth the price of admission. However, in warm weather it is even better, many trails and gardens to stroll.
Lauritzen Gardens provides a great day of walking that can be romantic, peaceful or entertaining for a family. It combines well designed European style gardens with some open, natural settings that attract local fauna. Plants are well labeled. Check out its calendar for well-done special events. The cost is $10 for adults, $6 for kids 6-12 and younger, free. Well worth it. There is a moderate hill from the building to the main gardens and some steps up to the level where the rose garden is. Men and kids in particular may want to take the steeper hike up to view the two historic locomotives that perch above the grounds.
A great place to see beautiful gardens , a nice restaurant/coffee shop to enjoy food or a beverage . Unique themes throughout the gardens , Gift shop is fun to browse through, worth a stop while you are in Omaha and allow several hours to enjoy it all.
This was a wonder little family outing. We all enjoyed it very much. Clean and no lines for anything
If you love nature and the outdoors, this is a great place to visit. very educational. Beautiful outdoors. Lots of flowers of all kinds.
Beautfiul. Was very nicely decorated for Christmas. Nice gift shop and very clean and well laid out.
I had no idea what to expect on my first visit. As a gardener, I just wanted to see the landscape. I loved it. Lots of variety, creativity and even though there is a ton of existing planting a, they have room to expand in the future. Even if you aren't into plants, it a great place for an afternoon walk.
