Cute little location with nice views to taste wine. Came here yesterday since it's down the street from St. George Spirits! Probably should have done this first so we can eat a little snack and drink before hitting the harder stuff. We came with another couple and decided to do a tasting. It's $15 for a tasting of 5-6 wines from their list of wines being poured. Pierre conducted our tasting, he was awesome! So kind and very knowledgeable about all of the wines. We really enjoyed talking to him in between our little moments of education about the different varieties that they sell at Rock Wall. Liked tasting here especially because it had a more relaxed feel and not stuffy like some Napa wineries can get! You can't beat the view for sure! The beautiful SF city skyline right across the way. We also enjoyed eating in the little dome/restaurant that's on the property. The food was good. Since we were just snacking we ordered the chicken liver pate and a roasted beets salad. They had so many items on their menu from pizzas, burgers, more appetizers, etc. All sounded delish! We will definitely come back when the weather is nice. Great place to sit outside and drink with friends!Restrooms: Separate restrooms for men and women. The women's restroom had 4-5 stalls and it was clean and stocked.
This place is a hidden gem in the East Bay. Situated in the old Naval Base among period warehouse this winery has an expansive view of the water and San Francisco as well as the sunset over the bridges. With fabulous outdoor dining, and sometimes music, this ground breaking, friendly place is a welcome relief from pretentious wine tasting experiences. The dining options are fantastic!!!
A diverse collection of over 30 well-made wines in a nice tasting room overlooking SF Bay and downtown San Francisco. The Rosenblum's are no longer at Rosenblum Cellars but have started this company and craft excellent wines. Besides a variety of Zins that they're known for they also have some interesting varietals such as Tannat, sparkling grenache, and petit sirah.
This is a beautiful place to taste wine. It has a view of the bay and of San Francisco. Since Alameda is not a grape growing area, wines are made from grapes sourced from various areas of California.
Fantastic place \get great wine, and a great bite while overlooking SF Skyline and the bay. The wine club is a great deal.
While visiting the Bay Area, we had the opportunity to visit Rock Wall. Located in an out-of-the-way location on an abandoned naval yard, we were surprised to find a nice wine and dining selection, excellent customer service, and a wonderful view of San Francisco. We enjoyed it enough to join their wine club. Next time we're in the area, we'll be back.
Great place to stop . . . make a three stop trip . . . Rosenblum 1st, ST. George Distillers 2nd, and then Rock Wall. Enjoy a bottle on the deck overlooking the bay and SF. Some really good wines at good prices . . . if you like Kent's wine making from Rosenblum's days . . . you will like his daughter's! Go and enjoy!
I attended a wedding here last weekend and it was a truly spectacular location. The event dome was fabulous, especially after dark when it was all lit up. It looked great from the inside and from the outside. The view of the city was gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed sipping wine and nibbling on appetizers on the patio as the sun set. I caught myself just staring across the bay more than once. It's a magical location. Didn't taste all the wine, just the zin and I was very pleased with it. Several people ate at the cafe during wedding prep and said it was really delicious.
We went for a "road trip" to about 45 minutes away from our town, to a hidden gem on the water in Alameda. Little did we know, when we went down that road, that we would find Rock Wall Winery Tasting Room, where Kent Rosenblum and his daughter make good wine at fair prices. The tasting was for 5 wines, and we split one, but the pourer kept giving us tastes of other wines he thought we would like. The times, they are a-changin' as our knowledgeable pourer was anything but old school, with his backwards baseball cap and youthful charm. The view of the water was stellar, and we decided to split a burger and fries out on the warm deck, with a glass of wine. The whole experience was fabulous, being able to eat good food and drink good wine in a fun, relaxing atmosphere. I can't wait to go back again.
As a belated birthday bash from a friend we went to this event last Friday night, I was really looking forward to a fun time considering I work special events at Livermore Valley wineries I was looking forward to participating vs. working, but what a waste! I'm not sure what the $5 + ticket fees was all about, there was not enough seating to go around, the "lack" of food trucks had people waiting for over an hour to get something to eat (if they could get something to eat at all!), the wine was not discounted at all ($6-10/for half a glass of wine), two toilets for at least three to four hundred women, and the band... well don't get me started.. those guys took more breaks than they played all night! I'm sure I won't be back to anymore Rock Wall Events! I hope just going to the winery for some tasting is a better experience, I hope more planning goes into any future events held by Rock Wall.
The tasting room was really nice and the wine was lovely. You can taste about six wines for $10. The staff was nice and friendly, also there was some outside seating with a cafe serving what looked to be good food.
Father and daughter winemakers/owners craft some very good wines. I attended some of their events such as their recent release party and it was well run. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Pick up a box of cocotutti chocolates, locally made artisan chocolates that pair well with Sauvignon Blanc dessert wine.
