I am giving this company no stars!!! Awful, terrible, DO NOT RENT BOATS FROM THIS COMPANY!! Where do I start? My father in law, Rich, reserved a boat for our family two weeks ahead of time and spoke to Mike, then five days before our actual boat rental day of Monday, November 10, 2014 he spoke to Mike again to confirm our reservation. We got to the boat deck on 11/10/14 and Bass Lake Water Sports was closed. Our family was so upset, we had our fishing gear, lunches, kids were excited, weather was gorgeous and the stupid place was closed. We went to Duceys to ask around, we went everywhere and asked for the owner, Tommy he was no where to be found. We waited around until 11:00. We kept calling the number and you could hear the phone were the bait shop was, it was ringing. Other people were looking for the owner to open up the shop and they were calling the same number. The kids were crying, we were all upset, because they were not open, it ruined our entire day. It was the perfect day to fish and rent a boat and Bass Lake Water Sports destroyed any chance of having fun. Bottom line, don't ever rent a boat or do business with this company. I will be spreading the word and leaving reviews all over to make sure no one gets taken advantage of like us.
I loved renting a platform boat to use on the water all day with dogs and kids. swimming was convienent. Much better than sitting on a hot beach!
Traveling with a 30 year old adult son in a wheelchair. A strong man and we are ver flexibleWe had a great time. The paths are too steep to travel in a chair safely for most. My son did it anyways and his hands took the break punishment. New gloves are needed. You can drive to most everywhere on the property and lots of wheelchair parking The patio boats at marina are great. A very steep ramp but they were very helpful. The doorway into boat too narrow. Son had to get out of chair and scoot on ground as the lifted chair in for him My son was happy because you don't need legs to drive a boat. And ladder was solid enough for him to pull himself back into boat after swimming !! At end of season. We got there late and returned late. They were very accommodating Yeah!
We just got back from another fun vacation at Bass Lake with the entire family, Grandparents, kids and Grandkids. We were concerned about the water level but it actually gave us some great sandy beaches. We swam, tubed, went out on the Pontoon boat, wake boarded, kayaked, paddled boarded and just plain relaxed. The water is nice and warm, the weather clear and warm. A great time was had for all.
Great place to rent a pontoon boat for the family! Good service with decent rentals. We stayed on the lake for the day rafting with a tube for the boys and yes the boat was fast enough to pull them too! We even bb'd & enjoyed a late afternoon lunch/dinner on the boat. The water is great for swimming especially if your not too fond of cold water cuz this lake was warm to our surprise. We recommend this place for boat or jet ski rental.
We visited on a Monday in July just for the day, we didn't actually get round to hiring any of the boats but just chilled on the sand by the edge of the lake which was lovely. Great little place for a day out with kids as a couple or a family. You can swim in the lake or do watersports. Drive down to where the supermarket and holiday park / hotel is and turn right and keep going down that road past loads of residential houses until you reach a parking place where you can park for the day and just take a short walk down to the lake. Would recommend it for a day out as an alternative / addition to visiting Yosemite!
Great equipment, reasonably priced, not too heavy on the safety side (just enough) and really helpful staff. More importantly, brilliant, fantstic fun!
We are visitors from UK staying in Oakhurst for three nights. Arrived at 1300 to book a patio boat for the afternoon, told nothing available until 1600 so booked 1600-1800. Went away and returned at 1530, went through induction and directed to the pontoon to wait for our boat. Staff member took us to where our boat should have been, not there, no sign. Staff member apologised for late return by previous hirer and we were asked to return to pontoon to wait. Twenty minutes later, still no sign of boat so decided to cancel, no problem getting full refund. While I appreciate that late return of boats is not entirely under management control, there appeared little organisation on the pontoon, and no attempt to locate the missing boat. No-one kept us informed as to what was happening and we were left very disappointed at a wasted afternoon. One other point, the restrooms were disgusting, smelly and awash with urine. I researched several Bass Lake boat hire companies and decided to use this one as they were the cheapest, maybe now I know why.
