If you have seen The Wizard or Pee Wee's Big Adventure, then you are familiar with the dinosaurs. My husband and I took a day trip out here because this odd roadside attraction has been on my bucket list for years. I was sad to see that the Wheel Inn Restaurant had closed. It was still cool to climb in both dinosaurs, although I agree that the Dino museum is quite cheesy. It's probably better if you have kids. Still, I hope that this attraction can survive the loss of the restaurant. Cool place with a fun tie to 80's/90's movies!
The place is in need of a makeover. Had some cool dinos but the all needed some love as did the grounds. All in all I didn't leave feeling cheated but It could have been much much better.
Its interesting to see the "movie" in this small but amusing dinosaur park? Not sure if it constitutes a park, but is was fun taking pictures in the mouth of a huge beast. If you're a fan of Peewee's great adventure, then you'll love this place cuz this where they shot the dinosaur scenes. Worth the stop. And kids live it cuz you can climb all over them, inside and out.
It's supposed to be open from 9:00 am to 7:30pm but every time i come through it is closed! It's looking really run down these days. I'm a local so I pass by often.
For those who love Peewee Herman, you'll be well familiar with these dinosaurs. Have been there for many years and are in surprisingly good shape for the age. You can seem them driving by on the highway and are basically in an Burger King parking lot. There is a museum you can pay for that allows you to go in the dinosaurs but you can just snap a picture from the outside as well.
Dinosaurs from Pee Wee's Big Adventure. It ha been turned into a creationist type of roadside attraction. Larger Dinosaurs were great smaller ones in the museum were starting to fall apart. Glad that someone is, somewhat, taking care of it as I fear that it would fall in no time at all. Unfortunately restaurant out front is closed now. About $9 to get in. Worth it to me to climb in the T.Rex. Probably not for others.
Never new this is a park. Been driving by for years just ignored t rex on the side of the freeway. If not for my 2 and 5 yr old grandkids who wants to see the more expensive dinosaur exhibit, which incidentally has a lot of negative reviews, I would not even search for an alternative place. Kids had a blast going inside 2 dinosaurs. One is a gift shop inside the other you get to climb all the way to it's mouth. There are robotic dinosaurs in the 2nd gift shop. For 2 dollars a ride on the Dino's back the kids had a blast. There is also a mineral mining and dig. Overall its worth to pay almost 9 bucks for adults and 7 for kids over 2. After the kids have their fun its the grownups turn at the outlet down the street.
OK - we needed gas so we took this opportunity to get off at the Cabazon exit, where the gas station is next to the dinosaurs. Took our kids here about 15 yrs ago. The dinosaurs are looking a bit tired, but if I had little kids who needed a roadtrip break -- this would be a good place to stop. Not sure if it is worth the admission price (so you decide whether you want to drive by / or pay admission) but definitely an unusual sight.
We've driven by the Cabazon Dinosaurs on numerous occasions and glad we finally decided to stop in and check it out. The dinosaur replicas are pretty good and instigated some fun conversation. The mining activity for gold was a hit with the kids.
Yes it's a little old and dusty but it's so worth a stop. It's kitschy and fun climbing the stairs to look out of at rexes mouth I liked this little road side attraction. It made a for a little bit of fun and childishness for me and my hubby what more can one ask for
This attraction costs about nine dollars per adult and slightly less for a child. It lasts, if you stroll very slowly, about 30 minutes. The dinosaurs are either plastic or concrete, I am not certain, but they are feeling fake. If you need to get the kids out of the car for some stroll, and you are around there and out of alternatives, you might consider this place. Otherwise I recommend you skip it.
I have no idea hoe it came to pass that these gigantic dinosaur replicas came to being in the desert just west of Palm Springs, but they are so cool. Ifyou have kids, they're a must.
It was just Okay. I like to take in a little more of the natural beauty of California. This is a desert area.
Unless you don't like science, or the mystery of this amazing creatures don't make you feel excited, or you just don't care if the dinosaurs ruled the world millions of years ago, this place is not for you. My kids had fun, I got entertained taking pics and teasing the children around. I can't believe I miss this place a couple of times. I was looking for a giant shiny, green dinosaur like in the movies. I am glad that I used the navigator. The gift store is nice and neat. They offer discounts to seniors, military and law enforcement.
Was here when I was a kid one then two when I brought my sons. Now a whole adventure park. My grandson loved it got to get close and touch them and they had robotic one's as well.
