I enjoyed touring the Ainsley House, which is near the Civic center of Campbell. Ainsley house is an English Tudor Revival style home which was built in the 1920s. It was the home of Campbell canning pioneer John Colpitts Ainsley and his wife Alcinda. The house was relocated to its current location. There are nice gardens around the Ainsley House. In front of the home is also the Orchard City Green, a large green grass area. The tour guide was informative and the home is very beautiful.
very interesting tour and beautiful house If you love english cottages you must visit. Stumbled onto this place walking through the historic district and enjoyed it very much
This home is a piece of history. It originally was situated at the site of the present day EBAY, at the corner of Hamilton and Bascom Ave. I witnessed as it was carefully moved from that site to its current site. The homes decor is period dated and the lavish woodwork and the unique roof is a big draw.. The home has guided tours and I have always found the guides to be knowledgeable about the history of the home and the owners who played a role in the canning industry of fruit from the valley of hearts content.
this place is so cool I would love to own it and live here I am glad they rsaved it from distruction. will go back agqain, and not to far from the librerry
A group of us recently toured this gem in downtown Cambell, CA what a surprise to find such a gem in the heart of town. The city has preserved a wonderful piece of it's heritage, and the docents are rightly proud of this property and the adjacent city museum.
