This is my go-to place for healthy, interesting AND drought tolerant plants. The people who work there (shout out to Jose, Alex, Josephina, and Chris!) are truly knowledgable, super patient and just great. They offer a discount to Lotusland members, too! It's a beautiful place just to walk the gardens which they have planted in a world-regional-plant-specific way. You will LOVE this place.
Go for a walk through their small botanic garden, which is organized by regions of the world. Very well done, quite peaceful. Then in their nursery, they usually sell what you are seeing in the garden.
It's not often that a commercial venture rates being called an attraction on Trip Advisor. This is more than a nursery. It's more of an adventure into a secret garden. Good prices too.
We stopped by to identify a succulent we had found. The woman (English) who worked there was extremely nice and took the time to answer our questions even when they even seemed dumb to us. They had a very large selection of planters that were priced right compared to our local big box garden shops. The real attraction IMO was their 'world' gardens that you can walk through to get landscaping ideas...think free botanical gardens. The people who put it together were obviously professionals. The one thing that my wife and I really liked was seeing lotus flowers in blossom. They looked almost artificial they were so perfect. We were here in early July.
Huge selection of plants and trees. Make sure you check out the designed gardens, which show off the plants in professionally planted sections organized by region of origin. It's a great place to visit even if you're not planning to plant. It's difficult not to find something that compels you to hit the garden. Friendly and knowledgeable staff rounds out the experience.
This is a wonder-filled nursery. They have planted areas so you can stroll and see what that little one gallon pot will grow into. There is a lotus pond that I want, a whole lot. There are fruit trees, shade specialties, succulents galore, garden accessories, Italian seed, and knowledgeable, helpful staff.
you need to check this out if you're into gardens and working in the yard. It offers a plethora of plants and landscape ideas......you'll be pleasantly surprised at this find.
If you are visiting Carpinteria, plan time to visit this brilliant garden and nursery! The staff are amazing and the garden is incredible...walking through the paths takes you to multiple other beautiful worlds!
This is a really nice garden, divided into Australian, Succulent, Native Plants, and more areas. The Lotus flowers alone were worth the stop. Technically this is a nursery with a focus on plants sales, but there's no pressure or sales pitch. We were greeted and left alone to wander through the planted gardens with our cameras. The gardens had several places along the way to just sit back and enjoy the view, including a fountain, grape trellis, and pond. If you enjoy seeing unusual plants add this to your list of things to do in the area. Best of all, it's free!
We never would've know about this place if we hadn't search the area hard for things to do while visiting nearby Santa Barbara. It does look like it's all nursery when you come up on it from Via Real..but, walk inside to the Botanical Garden area and it's postcard perfect...how creative and beautiful each area is..all geographically done..Australian, Mediterranean, African, South American, Succulents. The best part is when we found out that these plants are sold there and are all easily adapted to our California type weather..! We found some plants that aren't offered in our So. Calif area and bought them to take home for our garden. The help there is knowledgable and very friendly. With enough 'passing the word', this place will soon be overcrowded.
if you love a good nursery this one is fun. Very nicely done with garden walks and some different plants from Australia and other drought resistant areas. Worth a visit.
Fabulous selection of plants to purchase. 4 acres of plantings to walk through and enjoy, as well as see what mature plants in place will look like. This is not just a nursery, it is a botanical garden. Loads of birds, butterflies and bees enjoying the many blossoms. Prices are a bit high, but more than worth it for the experience. Highly recommended!
We stopped by Seaside Gardens after a Saturday visit to Carpinteria. We arrived less than an hour before closing time, so we did the quick tour. We liked it so much, we returned for two more hours the next morning!Great place to just walk around and explore. Large variety of plants in well-designed display gardens. Almost everything on display is available for sale. They also have lots of garden tools and accessories for sale.We talked to several of the employees there. Everyone was so friendly, knowledgeable and friendly. Even if you don’t look like you’re going to buy anything, everyone seems willing to spend time with you.Well worth a return visit!
Seaside gardens offers a wide variety of plants. It is a meditation to wander through the many sample garden areas. the staff is so knowledgable on your planting needs.
Really fun place to visit. Everything is for sale, but separated into countries of different plants with strolling around the different areas of the world. If you enjoy various plants then it is fun to visit.
