My wife and I have been visiting Davis for the past 4 years since we moved out to California. I'm not entirely sure when Vini opened up, but it's new to us! They have 70+ different types of wine available to try at any time with varietals from all over the world (we tried our first wine from Santorini, Greece here...who knew?). To get your wine, you take your Vini card, provided by the bar, and put it into a slot near the wine you'd like a 2 oz pour from. Once you've read a brief description about a wine and are convinced you have to try it, the push of a button charges your card and gives you a perfect pour. Love the concept. Most wines are about $3 per pour, with some going as high as $20 if the bottle is pricey, but overall is a good value if you're looking to taste a bunch of varieties in one visit.Oh, did I mention that when a bottle is "empty," there is still about 2-4oz that the dispensing machine cannot get out, so the awesome bartenders will give away that last bit for free. Bonus.We'll keep coming back here for a long time!
