I really enjoyed this ! You might be able to pick your own berries or pumpkins depending on the time of year. This is also a nice place for a field trip with a Kindergarten class!! They typically have a little petting zoo!
I went there this past fall for the pumpkin patch. They give tours for smaller groups. They have all kinds of farm animals and depending on the child's age that they can interact with baby ducks, chicks, bunnies and kittens. Along with bigger more mature animals such as ponies, goats and sheep. The pumpkin patch has a variety of pumpkins. It's a fun way to spend time with your kids.
Love bringing my out of town friends and their tots here in the fall. Baby animal experience can't be beat - as in "can't believe we get to hold this many adorable fuzzy animals!" Pumpkins are trucked in (not sure from where) and spread out in the field. This is great if you have little kids, but older kids might not be as impressed. Gourds and tractor rides, hay maze, etc round out the day. They also sell packaged snacks and the popcorn treat is amazing (carmelized pirates booty?)
Is there something about working at a pumpkin patch that makes the people working there miserable? All those adorable little animals; beautiful pumpkins; organic celebration; kids and family. Still, the workers often appear annoyed and sometimes openly scoff families.
This is one of the many pumpkin patches in our area and I am pretty sure both of our children have been there every year for the last 12 ! During the Halloween season they usually give tours to the local schools and have lots of baby animals for the kids to pet. The staff is always amazing and very welcoming !
I've been picking peaches at Impossible Acres this summer, and it's been a wonderful experience to be out in the country and walking in the orchards. Great prices, $1.79/lb for peaches. The fruit is not organic, but I was told the fruit is sprayed when dormant.
We always have a good time visiting Impossible Acres! They have lots of fruit in season. The staff are always friendly!
Hayrides, petting zoo, all the things necessary for a good time!
Have taken several classes here on field trips and we always have a great time. Farmer Katie and Farmer Tom(??) are welcoming and well-organzined. I take my own kids here even though I don't have a class to take there anymore!
I enjoy Impossible Acres year over year. This is a locally owned farm where you can go and pick Peaches and other Pit Fruit as well as Berrys. It is nothing fancy...quite funky actually, but a nice slice of rural California. They have Black Berrys, Olallie (sp) Berries and Raspberries. The Farm is easy to access off a secondary road. They charge by weight and the people are nice. I go with my kids and we make a morning of it, then go home and either cook with what we bought or cut and toss over ice cream. A nice way to spend a few hours and support a local farm. It is an old timely kind of thing to do, plus the fruit is fresh and good!
