playland not at the beach

I took the family last year, they have pinball machines, other games they had at Playland in San Francisco. Besides pinball they have things like old fashioned table games, like coin toss and bean bag toss. The Laughing Lady is there also just like at PlaylandI had my birthday party; I invited friends from work. I had a few friends that came back. They also have adult nights. Magic Shows, The dioramas are so detailed that it will take several visits to see it all. I liked the Haunted Houses and miniature Halloween scenes, the Santa's village (after the RIP place in Santa Cruz Hills)circus side shows, circus big top and more. Last time I went I bought 6 admissions for 1 person. Seniors (55 years and up) $ 40. I live outside of Sacramento. General Admission $ 15 Youths (up to 14 years) $ 10 Seniors (55 years and up) $ 10I have been there a few times in the last two months, I have a few friends that want to go again.

All around fun. Old style arcade games along with 50+ pinball machines from old to new. After paying to get in. Just play games and win toys and stuffies. Great for kids! (And adults!)

This is a must-do if you enjoy pinball machines and ski ball -- which we do. One admission, and play all you want -- plus win "prizes." How much better can it get?

We discovered this gem on a road trip through CA a couple of years ago. It was listed on Roadside America and we decided to stop and check it out. We have been hooked ever since. My daughter's favorite things are the old fashioned table games, like coin toss and bean bag toss. My favorite is the pinball. We can easily spend an entire day there. When given the choice between Playland Not At The Beach and John's Incredible Pizza, my daughter chooses Playland every time. That's saying something!

This place is fun for all ages. There is a little bit of everything related to amusements. There is a history section devoted to the original Playland in San Francisco, And there is a miniature hand carved circus. And rooms with miniature sets devoted to Christmas, Charles Dickens, Halloween and San Francisco in 1939. And a carnival area where you can play arcade games and win prizes. Once you pay admission you don't have to pay anything to play all the games. Plus there are tons of pinball machines also set on free play. Last but not least they have magic shows, for no extra charge. Check it out you'll like it.

Playland Not At The Beach is a few miles from San Francisco, in El Cerrito, Housed in a repurposed grocery story, Playland Not At The Beach is an amazing labor of love, and much more fun than I expected. There are many artifacts from San Francisco's original oceanside amusement park, Playland At the Beach, which had its heyday in the 1920's and eventually was torn down in the 1970's. Although some of these fragile items show deterioration, many have been painstakingly restored by dedicated, talented volunteers. They even have a Laughing Sal! There's a small viewing room where you can watch videos on the park's history. But there's so much more... a collection of sideshow exhibits, an amazing hand-carved circus set, thousands of miniatures on display. There are plenty of working penny-arcade attractions, and there's a huge collection of working, playable, fun pinball games and other arcade games. And you don't need quarters - your modest admission fee covers everything. PNATB is also home to the sweet little Eartha Kitt Museum. Weekends often have themes where guests dress up as superheroes, etc.; often there are face painters, magicians, or other entertainers performing. This is a fantastic party venue, or simply an interesting and fun side trip. My family's been there 3 times and there's always something new and fun to see and do.
