Encinitas Ranch is a JC golf course. The fairways are wide, and it is not the most difficult course around town. I enjoy playing it, but I have always felt that the course is priced too high. This is particularly so, when I can play comparable or better course for almost half the price.

Play there often-some days better than others-but I like to say its a nice walk in the park! Play a round and have lunch on the patio.

As public golf courses go this is one of the best in the San Diego area. The rate to play is reasonable, warm up facilities good and the course is challenging but fair. The greens are in great shape as is most of the course. And the views of the Pacific Ocean and inland to the Coastal Mountain Range are fantastic.I recommend you play here if looking for a public golf course in North San Diego County.

Lovely course. Canyons and mesas make it a challenge. Views of the Pacific are great. Look for specials on green fees. For the area, it is fairly priced. Easy to get to off of I-5, from most of San Diego county. I have played here about 5 times.

This is a challenging course with wide open vistas. Very tough and hilly. It sits up on a ridge overlooking the.ocean. Watch out for chaparal OB.

Not a golfer, but the course is beautiful and we are avid walkers and enjoy walking the beautiful course on the paths which take us up to the ridge and you can see the ocean views! Always well maintained, and we like watching all the folders play!

I am not into golf but my friends and I always tried to go screw around at the driving range at ER ... the space is nice and ample and very quiet up on a ridge overlooking East and West Encinitas right off Leucadia Blvd.Nice!

This is a great golf course! It gets lots of play but somehow they manage to keep it in great shape. Lots of challenging shots, and, while not 'target' golf, it is by no means a resort course. It is a public course that has many beautiful views and a super friendly staff. Enjoy!

Ok so I travel to Carlsbad 5/6 times a year. I have played this course at least 50 times, I know I'm sick but I love the great ocean views. This year I even bought a membership although I live in Las Vegas . My experience with the front counter staff was awesome. Buying a home soon and will return.

Very average course at a very high price. Clerks at counter tried to sell you packages that were too complicated. Course need upkeep.

When I made the tee time, no mention was made of the large renovation being made to the golf course. These guys are creeps. #16 is closed and in its place #11A-an 105 yards. Lots of work being done, lots of noise, lots of new sod patches, lots of workers. Several of the greens are half sanded. Do not go here for an enjoyable round of golf.

Pretty landscaped flowers and long distance ocean views can't justify $80 greens fees when so much course repair is ongoing after what appears to have been a period of long deferred maintenance. This course would be a better value if the greens fees were discounted at least 50% to reflect current course conditions. Greenskeepers and ground crew are playing catch-up big time now. You'll find plenty of hard packed bunkers bereft of sand; greens under repair half covered in white sand; and bare spots and ground under repair on the fairways. The 9th hole is a good example. Hole 17 was closed for repair, which necessitated chopping up the par 5 No. 11th hole into a funky short par 3 No. 11(a) and a par 4 No. 11(b).The course management is to be commended for finally getting around to making much needed improvements -- one bunker and one hole at a time. Problem is, they shouldn't be charging greens fees as though the course were in primo A-1 condition. There are better value courses elsewhere.

A round of golf for $20/person and that includes a cart. What a fun way to get back into the swing of golf. My husband and his friend made reservations for a round Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and really enjoyed this course. I was not crowded, the course was in good condition and they hooked up with a gentleman that was familiar with the course. They came away planning their next visit.

Encinitas Ranch is a fun and enjoyable course. The holes offer great views and a lot of elevation change. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Good value if you are an Encinitas resident or a JC member. ER is very good for the average golfer but average for better players.

This is a JC Resorts Course of which there are 5 in the San Diego Area, 1 of which is in Temecula. All of there courses are Great, and usually in Great Condition. Typical Green Fees are around $85. unless your a JC member, where they drop to around $60. Encinitas Ranch is an Ocean View course with a view on about 40% of the holes/fairways. This was built on the World Famous Eckes Poinsettia Ranch. This course can be very challenging depending on the ocean winds, and your ability to navigate the hilly terrain. I would rate this course in the top ten of the many options in San Diego. It does not have a Restaurant, which is why it does not get an excellent rating. It has a snack bar, which is good for a sandwhich, etc. Enjoy...
