sugar pine reservoir

A short drive and beautiful views. Its worth a trip to the reservoir to go fishing. I sure love the drives up there. If you choose winter to visit, you will need chains.

Sugar Pine reservoir is nestled in the Tahoe National Forest a few miles from Foresthill's town center. Plenty of places to camp or a day trip from Sacramento. Good for paddling, swimming or fishing. Hiling and biking are good options. The trees are beautiful, so calming. The roads wind through the forest. The road is paved, but very narrow and full of turns. Go slow, lots of wild turkeys and some bear!Fees for camping but not for day use. Closed in winter because of snow.
