johnny's bar & grill

I love this place! The beer is cold and the food is fantastic! Johnny's is a genuine American Icon. The owner is a great lady and very much adored by the locals.

Was there - 09/07/14If you ride a Motorcycle. This is where the 'American Biker' culture got started. This is a local Bar and Grill and it shows. The folks are very friendly. If you're familiar with the old movie 'Wild Ones' Brando/Marvin ... and the Hollister incident ... you'll understand the attraction.In the back you'll find a resent dedication to 'Wino Willie' - Boozefighters MC. On the side of the building you will see a mural on this too. I always order the Johnny burger. Although the bar is open, the grill is closed on Sundays. Myself ... I don't drink when I ride (or drive) ... so it's ice tea of some such thing.The pictures I have included say more than I can. This place should be included on everyone's 'road trip'.

When planning our trip, we knew that this was a must see as we were going through Hollister. A piece of history for any motorcycle enthusiast. We stopped in and sat at the bar to cool off and quench our thirst with a couple of sodas. The bartender was tickled to hear that we had made this a destination on our trip out from Colorado. Lots of locals having lunch who were very friendly to a couple of tourists. Cool memorabilia, great atmosphere. Bartender was really helpful in our pursuit to take home a couple of great Johnny's T-shirts! The only downside to this visit, was the farmer's market that closed down the street. We were really hoping to get a picture of our motorcycles in front of the bar/mural.
