The staff is friendly, and the place is always clean. We rented a slip for the fishing season this year so that we didn't have to keep hauling it up. We spend a lot of time in June Lake all summer fishing and hiking. The staff was always friendly to our kids, and they had duck food to purchase, so the kids loved that!
We camped here and it was easy reservations and any changes I had to call in they were happy to handle. We arrived late and was glad to see that our space was still ours. While the lake is low, which makes me sad, it is still a beautiful place to see. We got to make friends with some ducks, though that was probably because we bought some duck food from the bait shop. Dogs are welcome. Facilities are nice and in a centralized location. Would love to come back!
This is a great facility on the beautiful June Lake. We tried to rent a pontoon boat during the Labor Day weekend but they were all booked. Very friendly service. I recommend reserving your boat months ahead of time.
June Lake has a beach where you can lay out on the sandy beach or safely swim. Wind surfing is also allowed
This is a very scenic lake with a gorgeous beach area, but water is COLD. Some shore line fishing on rocks, but we didnt catch. Go down to beach area for parking.
even for these little lake marinas this places was over over priced. everything was 25-50% more than neighboring lakes. no thanks.
June Lake is a very pretty lake in the Eastern Sierras. The marina rents boats; we have rented boats here to go out on the lake. Just taking the boat out is nice as its so scenic there. Our goal however is to catch some trout - some times we're lucky; sometimes not, but its always a great day.June Lake also has a nice swim beach, place to play volleyball, shore fish, and there is also camping on the lake.
Showed up after finding the grand opening of June Lake Brewery. Young man who was working the counter (and works the facebook page) is classy, well spoken, and I was happy to see him working the counter again. They have unique artificial baits from other tackle shops if you have a good eye and are in the know on soft plastics. It costs to launch a float tube from here, and there are plenty of free options in the surrounding areas, but it is totally worth it to support this facility who also works to help stock the lake and keep the trout healthy. Pure Class!
Rented an all-day for 3 people. Everything was ready when we got there. Helpful staff. Came in for lunch and dock guy was there to help. Left after lunch, returned around 5pm and there was another guy to help as we pulled in.
Good to go with best friends who seek a getaway. If only I could own a cabin would be super nice, haha. I think I could go fishing there someday
I have always loved June Lake, Big Rock Resort Iwe have been going there for over 20 years and this place will hold tons of memories for our family.
We first began fishing out of the marina back in the mid 1970's just after John and Mickey Frederickson purchased the operation. They started with a little "bait shack" and have built the marina & store into a first class operation. Well maintained boats and facilities. A fish cleaning station that is clean and well appointed with the necessities to make the end of the fishing day easy.
The staff in the marina is FANTASTIC! So friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on June Lake. The marina is also very close to the June lake Campground. 200 yards. The marina offers boat rentals for half and full day. They have many 14' and 16' boats with motors in good repair, at a reasonable price. Purchasing full day is the way to go, as it is only a little more in cost than the half day rental. Also... they offer pontoon boats. They are a bit pricey but the pontoons are almost always rented before noon. The boats are very clean. The 14' boats have 3 seats with fold up backs. The 16-footers have 4 seats. We saw many children fishing and several caught fish. The water is beautiful. Cold, clean and clear. There is a convenient cleaning station on shore as well. The store is small but fairly well stocked with snacks and drinks and jerky. They also have an assortment of fishing gear. Don't forget to purchase a fishing license if you are over 14. And... can't pilot the boat unless you are 18. Not sure of all the fish in the lake but I know there are rainbow trout because I saw an Osprey catch one and fly away. (So amazing! Last time I saw anything like that was on Marlin Perkins Wild Kingdom.)
The mix between the sun reflecting off the shallow half of the lake and the contrasting dark blue when the lake drops off into deeper waters is really nice. The beach area is quite nice as well.
I love June Lake. The marina is fantastic. The staff is warm and friendly. The give great advise on lake and fishing conditions. It's refreshing to get an honest appraisal of the days/weeks fishing conditions. The boats are nice, clean, and well maintained. They have a very nice cleaning station with a scale to weigh that big catch. June Lake stocks Alpers trout along with the DFG stocking. I wish more lakes would do the same. Once you have fished June Lake you will continue to return. Stop in and say Hi and get the latest scoop on the lake.
