This was my first time skydiving along with my husband. When we made our reservation over the phone the gentleman was a bit gruff and to the point. When we got there, the 2 ladies at the front desk were nice enough. They helped us along with the other 9 or so people in the room. After orientation where we 'signed our life away' we went to the waiting area where the skydivers were packing up their gear getting ready to take the first load of passengers out. All the men that worked in the back were very friendly and made us feel at ease. When it was our turn we boarded the bus to shuttle us over to the airport, then board the plane. The ride up to 13,000 ft was about 10-15 min.WE JUMPED and had a very enjoyable ride down which lasted about 4 min. Best time ever...No regrets and our 'instructors' were awesome.Would do it again!BTW - get the video; it is awesome to look at over and over again later!
I'm giving them 4 stars because their booking process was kind of a pain. Our dive was cancelled twice before finally giving it a go on the 3rd time. It was frustrating because we were coming up from San Francisco, and it was at least a 2 hour drive. Once there however, everything was a breeze. Our instructors were awesome and hilarious and put us at ease. Especially my friend who was jumping for the first time. One thing to know, when you get there, don't expect to jump at your appointment time. They are extremely busy and get very backed up so you might have to wait a couple hours. It's kind of fun to watch everyone else jump and land though, so it goes by pretty quick.
Good price from Groupon, but mediocre equipment. The GoPro camera failed to capture images of my (first) skydive experience. Poor service over the counter and over the phone. Disappointing.
My 65th birthday was FANTASTIC thanks to Ross Vail, my jumpmaster, and Skydive Sacramento! What a frickin RUSH! Be sure you take the 13,000' jump, like I did, so you have more free-fall time. Only wish I'd found this sport when I was younger. If I had, I'd be jumping solo today! Skydive Sac is professional, fun and experienced - YOU GOTTA TRY THIS.....just go jump out of a plane!!! (With Skydive Sacramento, that is) Woooohoo
I was tandem with Justin and my wife was with Brian. Both were excellent instructors. My wife had done it before, I was a newbie. 1st off, I have been trying to beat my fear of heights, I have ziplined several times. This was an awesome experience. While Justin did seem a little bored, and probably not really excited to be strapped to a 50 year old man, he did a great job. I have no complaints. The airplane was an extremely small 1 prop. Luckily airplanes don't scare me, if your gonna go, your gonna go. Justin instructed me like a pro, I felt fully confident when I jumped. We did the 9000 foot jump, I wish we had done the 13000 foot. Thank you Skydive Sacramento for making my 1st time memorable.
Went with my 18 yr old son on Friday June 21st 2013. Wife and two smaller kids were with us. Had a 10am appointment and showed up about 20 min early. Watched the video and signed all the waivers. Hung out outside watching the jumpers in front of us for about 30 min. They used a small plane for us so it was one at a time. I got the harness on and some basic instructions from Ross who was great! And away we went with Emily who was a lot of fun taking pictures and video. We had a great time! After that it was my son's turn. Same deal, harness and flight up. The place was not that busy so we were able to tag along on the bus over to the landing zone and watched my son land. He had a great time as well. The personnel at Skydive Sac were all friendly from the front desk to the pilot. At no time did I feel they were not professional and they really helped put us at ease with any first time jump anxiety we might have had. I jumped with t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes and that seemed to work well. Maybe long pants is better because it is a bit cool up there. The area in the air is nice as well with green farm lands, city in the background, surrounding mountains. It took about 3.5 hours for us to complete the whol process. The jumps were reasonable as we got $99 deals but I could not afford pictures and video for the both of us. I got the video and pics for my son and just pics for me so I would have a little bit to tip the workers. They did a great job and I'm not sure what the going rate was for tips but I did about $10 each. Total spent was about $200 each but you could get out of there with as little as $100 each person with online deals if you don't want the video and pics. I highly recommend Skydive Sacramento if it's your first jump. Great gift for those who turn 18 or graduate from High School , special occasion or bucket list item.
My first tandom sky diving here from 13000 feet is ultimate experience. My instructor Kurt explained every detail and helped me to make this as a memorable experience. My appointment is 3'O clock but I got my turn at 5:30, prepare for large delays like this. May be they need to do something to organize the time better. There is nothing around to spend time. You need to sign nearly in 50 places to complete the paper work after watching the short video.Another advise, it is recommended to wear a T-shirt without collar otherwise it may cause some inconvenience during free fall due to fast air. Your ears may hurt due to pressure if yo don't know how to clear this ask your instructor before jump. There is nothing to be scared, it is a life time experience.
