The center is available, obviously to taste wine. Not just the wine they are pouring, but can provide color maps to visit and taste at other wineries as well. Clean, friendly, welcoming.
To get a real feeling for California wine and how it is grown and produced Lodi is a must visit.Only 1.5 hours from San Francisco and 45 minutes from Sacramento will put you in touch with the people who get their hands dirty. Start at the very friendly and low cost wine center. They have maps and lots of info. There are now a number of wonderful restaurants from Thai up the street to steak in Woodbridge or downtown. Weekends will find you live music at many venues plus there are now several brew pubs! Our favorite is Woodbridge Uncorked representing 5 wineries and changing micro brews. And you can great pizza brought in from next door!
Conveniente as it is part of hotel and spa and representative of Lodi as a great large and botique wine area in California.
You cannot go wrong in choosing to eat breakfast or lunch here. The prices are reasonable, the food is oh-so delicious and the staff are very friendly, anticipating your needs. Great experience each and every time!
Stopped here with a friend while visiting Lodi on her suggestion that there was an educational area telling about local wine production. That was no longer available. The gentleman at the wine tasting area was helpful in sharing local information with us. When my friend purchased a wine-related tool, he demonstrated for her how to use it when opening her bottles of wine. Nice stop, not too robust with production information which is what I was looking for when stopping.
Shortly after arriving in Lodi to spend 3 days tasting local wines we made our way to the Lodi Wine & Visitor Center, apparently only about 35 minutes before its closing time at 5 PM. Ed, the gentleman running it offered us a tasting and then gave us a very nice "winery map" plus indicated which were open which days and several special features of their wineries and tasting rooms. He also shared a bit of the local history. A nice and helpful stop.
Great map, friendly people, ok wines, very affordable. Lodi is wine tasting for people who are new at this or who want to go wine tasting without worrying about too being too pretentious. Very laidback and enjoyable.
Nice tasting room and the man serving us that day was very nice and helpful. They carry many different wines for sale. Make it a stop.
Wines of Lodi certainly represents the value and variety of quality in this area ofCalifornia considering the huge wine market in this state----really the basin andfoundation for the American wine industry.Back to the land of Lodi! Our tastings:Verdelho--white----portugal and Madeira grape origins--very herbaceous, nutty, andhigh in alcohol acidity. Bokisch Vinyards!Heritage Oak Winery--Rose---very berry, light floral flavours--a still rose, not sweet.Cinsault--red--low in tannins, often the foundation for great rose's, similar to a southafrican hermitage--nice nose of strawberry. Bechthold Vinyard!Cabernet sauvignon --nice tannins, black current, chocolate, green peppers, TortoiseCreek wines!Zinfandel Footstomp--black pepper, blackberry jam, medium to full bodied wine. BergholdVineyards. All were very enjoyable tastings and requires a repeat.Yes--you can join their Wine Club!Thank you Anne-Marie!
Great place to sample the local wines before you hit the actual wineries. Develop your itinerary here while you review the local wine guide.
We have visited Napa many times over the last 30 years. Lodi wine has made me excited to taste wine again.
This is the place to start when you enter Lodi for wine tasting. The center displays a wide variety of local products and has information and maps that will lead you to the local establishments. The staff is very friendly and has a good knowledge of the local community including the growers, farmers and producers.Even if you have visited more than a few times the selection is always changing and you may find that one taste you have been looking for!
Wine tasters will get lots of info and some wine sips here. A good idea for Lodi and community.Easy parking, well lit, tastefully done and very clean. Get your answers here and maps to the stars. There is no fee to look inside. Some wineries give free samples and it's always best to go there first. Fees for wine tasting is excessive. One of our favorite wineries is Century Oak on Lower Sac Rd.Enjoy and drink responsibly.
This is a great place to start your tour of the wonderful wineries we have in Lodi. The folks that work here will help you plan an interesting day by helping you decide where to visit based on the type of wine you like (maps available, also). Enjoy!
For many years Lodi has worked hard to be the Napa of the Central Valley. Now you can say that if you want great wine go to Lodi, if you want car parts, go to Napa. The Wine and Visitor center is a perfect place to stop on your wine tour. They have exhibits, souvenirs and of course flights of wine you can taste. People are always friendly and parking is easy.
