Dear Alan,First and foremost, thank you for visiting us over the Valentine's weekend and for reviewing us. I want to apologize because it seems you didn't get the true Carhartt Tasting Room experience. We take pride in being a small, family owned winery and follow a Ground to Glass concept, which means everyone in the tasting room is involved in the winemaking process, so the fact that you didn't get to learn about our wines is disappointing. I hope the next time you're in our area you decide to stop in again and feel free to contact me (email is on our website) and I'll personally come pour for you. I hope you had a great weekend and thank you for your feedback.Joe RamosWine Club Mananager

I'm not to familiar with the tasting rooms of Los Olivos, but this place blew us away. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and invited to have a seat in the cute little patio. There were 5 of us and we squeezed in a little spot by the pond. they brought us glasses and came around to check on us after each tasting. We got to meet several of the wine makers, it was great. Beautiful day, great people. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. Most down to earth tasting room I've experienced.

Carhartt's tasting room is located at the edge of town in Los Olivos, which is to say about two blocks from the center of town, lol. There is a very small building with the cash register and a small bar to taste wine. I would say the building is probably 12 ft by 12 ft. This sounds small and is, but they have a much larger patio behind the entrance where they can seat several people and that is where most people do their wine tasting. We were almost immediately greeted by the Brooke, the wine maker, and she assured us that she would find us a spot. The atmosphere is very inviting/friendly/jovial and everyone there appeared to be having a good time. The had abotu two whites and six to eight reds to taste. Open everyday from 11:00am to 6:00pm. I definitely think you should give this place a chance if you have never been there before.

A must stop. Small family winery with some great wines. Get their early as the get busy late in the day. Staff was great and wine is very good.

My wife and I just got back from a trip to Los Olivos. On Thanksgiving we were out walking around the deserted streets when we noticed the "open" sign out front of the Carhartt tasting room. We ventured in, found a couple of comfortable seats outside, and ordered a couple of tastings. Boy are we glad we did. The line-up of wines was outstanding from top to bottom. Even though my wife generally subscribes to the all-pinot-all-the-time theory, she loved all of the wines, especially the grenache and sangiovese. Making the visit even more special was getting to talk to Mike about the history of the winery and the ranch. It was a great visit and a great time. We can't wait to come back.

Oh wow! We have always loved their Zinfandels, but they sold out. We had to have Pinot noir and Syrah, instead. Both of these were so delicious! We are reminded why we have closed out all of our wine memberships except for this one!

Cute, Cute, Cute! Carhartt Tasting Room, located in Los Olivos, California is known as the “smallest tasting room in the world”. And it IS small! Tiny, tiny bar…don’t blink as you walk through the front door and out the back as you might miss the hosts! The back patio area, however, is quite spacious and inviting with awesome barrel stave patio furniture. The Carhartt’s started the winery back in 1998 with 2 barrels. They now produce about 5,000 cases per year, all exclusively sold at their itty bitty tasting room and through their wine club. They have two vineyards and use about 50% estate grapes and 50% sourced. They are a small family owned operation and like to call it the “ground to glass concept”, meaning they do everything from grow, make, bottle, label, and pour. This was a very fun experience! We met with Joe, the wine club manager, and Evan, staff, host, family friend since about 5-years old. Really nice, fun and friendly guys! Good wine too!! Oh…and for a bit of history, the little room/building/shack they are in used to be a ticket booth for the stage coach back in the days of old. This place may be small, but its personality and history are HUGE…so don’t miss this one!

Stopped off in Los Olivos for some wine tasting and Carhartt caught our eye. Very quirky and cool venue. Laid back staff but very attentive and informative! Most importantly the wine was delicious, so much so we bought 4 bottles which we took with us in our suitcases to Hawaii, Florida and back to London!

We have visited tasting rooms a-plenty, and this one is a standout. It was actually recommended to us by a staff member at another tasting room/vineyard a few miles away --usually a good sign. The spot is quaint and quirky in the best of ways. The wines were delicious. But what really made the spot special was the staff, who took the time to talk about the wine and made us feel so welcome. Not to be missed.

Carhartt wines is not to be missed! California meets Hawaii meets hippie in this small tasting room at the end of town. The tiny inside bar opens to an awesome patio with handmade wood furniture, a great chill vibe, and some sweet shade to idle the afternoon away in. The place was packed but the staff sat down at the table every time they poured - it felt like being in a friends backyard instead of transactional or on a countdown like some tastings can be. The Rose, Rebel Roan, and late harvest Sauvignon Blanc were great. If we didn't have a long list of tastings to try to get to I could have easily spent a few hours here making my way through a bottle or two.

Likely the smallest tasting room we have ever visited, it was one of the most fun. As our friend suggested "party central". This tasting room remained opened later than the others in town, genius marketing. The vibe was oh-so-low-key, the main tasting area set in a shaded patio reminiscent of a tropical oasis. We left an hour after their posted closing time and there were still other guests, none of whom were being ushered out. Oldies music played in the background, including Pink Floyd, bringing back memories of high school. Wine is a personal choice, so we are neither recommending or criticizing the wine, however, we appreciate that Carharrt offers a very unique and Throwback Thursday approach to enjoying and appreciating wine.

This was one of our favorite wineries of the weekend. The tasting room is just super cool, one of the funnest and cutest around! It is super tiny and has a small little inner bar but you want to sit outside. The patio is awesome. They have really nice wooden tables and chairs, everything is custom and beautiful. The atmosphere really can not be beat. The service was really good, they guys working were totally our type of people. If you are looking for a classy, or snobby winery this is not your place. The wines were really good, some of the best we had. I liked each and every one we had. My most favorite was the Rebel Roan, a great red blend.

Great vineyard wine tasting experience! We were on a private jeep tour and stopped here for an unexpected pleasure. The wines were phenomenal and the vintner was very passionate about the product and knowledgeable. Ended up shipping home many bottles!!

Carhartt epitomizes California wines. The tasting room is relaxed, it feels like you are sitting on a friends patio with good music and beautiful locally made patio furniture. The wines are really really good. The tasting menu consisted of 5 out of 6 reds and each one was fantastic, easy to drink but had complex big flavor. We happened on carhartt unexpectedly because they were open after the other tasting rooms closed, but we will make it a priority to taste there again on our next trip. Don't let the Carhartt boys with bare feet fool you, they know their stuff.
