Our 15 year old daughter is an amateur photographer. We found Pat through an internet search. He was fantastic. He taught our daughter so many tips. He brought us to magnificant spots. He found so many great angles for shots. (He even taught this middle-aged Dad how to take a picture of folks at Yosemite Falls without making it look like the waterfall was landing on top of their heads :) I highly recommend!

This is our second trip through the park with Pat, this trip we wanted to get sunset at Horsetail falls, while only a trickle of water we got the shots we were there for and the added bonus of shooting a few of the other falls. It was a great trip and I got some amazing shots.

This was the first trip to Yosemite for me, my husband and our 10-year old son. Pat was an awesome tour guide and was very knowledgeable with the park. To keep our son engaged, he had a Yosemite trivia book that we quizzed each other on throughout the day and he also let our son use his binoculars which was also a treat for him. My husband and I are novices with our camera, but by the end of the day, Pat had taught us how to use some of the more advanced features on the camera and also how to better 'compose' a photograph. I was also impressed with the connections that Pat had which allowed us on this given day to drive into an area that had been closed to the general public, a definite perk! I would recommend a tour with Pat whether you are interested in photography or not due to his ability to get you to the right places in the park at the right times.

This was the first time me and my wife has stepped foot into Yosemite and we are both very grateful to have found Pat. It is not only for his knowledge and understanding of Yosemite but for his easy to learn photography teaching. I went in with little to no knowledge of my camera and left satisfied that I know more about photography than reading a two hundred page manual. His hands on approach, enthusiasm, and passion for both nature and photography is what truly makes this a one of a kind experience. We would highly recommend him and be sure to reserve him on our next visit for further yosemite experience and photo taking opportunities!

My day with Pat was a real treat. Pat was amazing and an incredible guide! He took us to all the key places knowing our time in Yosemite was limited! He helped my husband finally learn to use our camera properly! We walked away with amazing pictures and memories for a lifetime! If you want to enjoy Yosemite and all it has to offer, Pat is the man to do it! We would love to go back one day and bring our kids with us and of course, we will be calling Pat! We had 6 adults and we were very comfortable in his Yukon. We didn't have to worry about a thing thanks to Pat!

I took my management team away from the distractions of Silicon Valley to the Tenaya Lodge for a two day strategy workshop. On day three we were guided around the park by Pat Althizer and taken to the most spectacular viewpoints from the valley floor to the top of Sentinel Dome at over 8000 feet. Each of my colleagues remarked on what a wonderful day it was, and a great opportunity to reflect on our time together, clear our heads, continue conversations, and build trust. Pat is an excellent guide with a great knowledge of the history and geography of Yosemite, and a patient coach for aspiring photographers. His vehicle was comfortable and well-supplied with cold drinks and snacks, and the day was well-paced with plenty of time to indulge in the spectacular vistas without feeling that anything was missed out. Thoroughly recommended for any corporate group.

My wife and I had just two days in Yosemite, and the 2d day was a planned full day hike up to the top of Half Dome. I hired Pat for the first day for a couple of reasons. First, I had been disappointed in the quality of my landscape photos from past trips to the wilderness, and secondly I figured it would be a great way to see a lot of the best vistas in a short period of time. The first thing that impressed me was the pre-trip communication via email and that it was clear Pat wanted to know our objectives so that he could customize the right experience. The trip met all objectives. Pat was right on time, and he was a great guide and teacher. I brought my Canon DSLR and he worked with me on some great landscape techniques, showing me how to shoot some great photos in manual mode just by utilizing the shutter speed dial more. I was really happy with how my photos came out. We also visited many sites with great vistas. When my wife and I are by ourselves, I rarely get good photos of both of us, so it was also a real plus to have Pat take some nice portrait shots. He was very timely uploading the photos to dropbox, and I had the link by the time I regained internet service a couple days later.I would highly recommend Pat and the Photo Safari Yosemite Tour.

It was a pleasure doing the Yosemite photo tour with Pat. He's an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable about the vegetation and park life. He knew the perfect time to go for the perfect picture. He has a very pleasant personality, explains things well, and let us just stop and enjoy the beautiful sights. A+++

Really glad we used this guide. He knew where to go and when. My teens loved Yosemite and he made it even better by teaching us how to actually use our camera and it's features. Even if you don't want the photo lesson, the guiding alone is worth it.

We had a fantastic full day photo safari with Pat taking in all the beautiful sights of Yosemite and some more off the beaten track as well. Not only is he incredibly knowledgable about his surroundings but he is an expert photographer so he was able to tell us where to take all the best shots. He also took lots of photos of us as a family which he e-mailed to us within a couple of days. He is such an interesting person to listen to and the day just flew by.
