I have many times attended Sunday Mass at the Abbey, a very moving, uplifting experience. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the atmosphere is "peaceful," as one would expect from their full name.

A place to feel the peace the Abby provides to it's monks as you stroll the grounds outside. Look towards the ocean and rest along the way on a bench to meditate and take in the peace and the hilltop breezes.

The abbey allows people to come for day long or longer retreats. A day long retreat starts at 5am for morning prayers, includes breakfast and lunch and ends around 3pm. The priests here are wonderful, knowledgeable, and very approachable.You can pray or just walk the mile and a half trail that connects the outdoor stations of the cross. (If that is too much of a trek, they have stations inside as well). There is also a gift shop, but it is closed during mass and meal times.The views are spectacular and you feel like you are far separated from the hue and cry of the world.We arrived in time for the daily mass at 11am then stayed for adoration. Next time we will make a full day of it.
