There are just a bunch of buildings in a circle. Met the caretaker and had a nice chat with him but really not worth the effort

We attended an event in support of a local Oceanside candidate on a Sunday. The live music was provided by Cowboy Jack Johnson (a local and very excellent Hank Williams/Johnny Cash music performer,) they also had an "ice-cream social" ongoing at Heritage Park on that Sunday and the ice cream was great! A "must experience" location in Oceanside, CA!

I've live in Oceanside for years and have driven by the "Heritage Park Open Sunday 1-4" sign hundreds of times. So we got ourselves together and went over. Ok -- the park gate was unlocked and there are buildings but they were locked with no schedule posted of when they might be open. The buildings look interesting as they are old buildings from the area moved together into a heritage park but OPEN usually denoted more than an open gate and empty park. Maybe I'll try again a year or two.

This whole park can be rented for functions. Check out the blacksmith building, the old jail and the central gazebo, perfect for weddings and family reunions.

This park is awesome. Don't believe the rumors. I promise, it is safe and family friendly. Skaters welcome. Come one come all. Just keep the hate at home. This park require Love at all times.

This little hidden gem of a place in Oceanside was built in 1976 as a tribute to the bicentennial of America, and has buildings (homes, schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, old jail, printing office, etc) around a central gazebo and beautiful lawn. On a former visit, the buildings were open and docents gave tours and brought the history to life. Unfortunately, for several reasons, there are not enough volunteers these days, and the buildings are only open for special occasions. But don't let that stop you from enjoying the beautiful and nostalgic park. My social group had our annual picnic there recently and everyone said it was the best we had ever had. There are a bank of semi-shaded picnic tables, clean restrooms, plenty of parking, and the services of a resident caretaker. The grounds are available for rentals for weddings and other events. The grounds are also home to summer band concerts. A restful and lovely place!

I found this park accidentally while looking for Mission San Luis Rey. It is a quaint place set up to look like it's from the late 1800s. They had a little store for ice cream, a gazebo, a little school, and the birds were singing beautifully. Can't wait to go back to enjoy the history in a nature setting!

Great place to bring grade schoolers after the Mission. Walking distance. A little more Oceanside history!

This will be a nice park. The buildings are there but they still need work on the inside. For instance, the carriage "barn" has no carts or carriages to look at. The old newspaper office needs more printing equipment, right now it is hodgepodge. The saloon could stand fixing up inside & maybe sell stuff like "sarsaparilla" etc. The volunteers do put on some nice events there & there is a window at which to get stuff like hot dogs & ice cream. The old church for me was the highlight.
