The "Mother Orange Tree" is the oldest living orange tree in California, having been planted in 1856. Cuttings were used from the tree to start the california orange tree industry in Northern California. The tree sits alone barracaded from the public by a cast iron fence. However, the tree still bears fruit and low-hanging ones can be reached and tasted! There is nothing to see here except the tree...this is mainly an attraction for those interested in plants and botanical history.
