Apple hill Camino area. This shop is an always visit. Always find a good deal on various fresh produce. Staff is friendly and willing to help. Samples are available. A bakery and a good selection of dried, fresh, and frozen grocery items. We usually pick up the frozen pies on visits. They hold fairly well especially well priced compared to the grocery store. Taste just as good as freshly baked when made. Made with juicy apples. Good: simple family time to be had by all. Lots to do. Plenty of unique finds. Bad: weather can be a hit and miss to affect access. Tip: During harvest season show up early to avoid the crowds. I'm a return shopper.
This place is fantastic. Produce is fresh and excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have baked goods and wine tasting in the back. Their baked goods are delicious and is complemented very well with their cold, fresh, apple cider. Check out the fruits and veggies for sale and pick up a jar of their Apple Butter.I highly recommend picking up a couple of ready to bake apple pies. They turn out extremely well and tastes amazing.
Lots of apple products and other foods in a farmer's market set-up. The apple donuts are delicious, but the apple cider was the highlight for me.
Unlike many spots in Apple Hill, Boa Vista is open year round. They have so much more than apples. They have a bakery where you can get all kinds of goodies including, my favorite, apple donuts. You can get fresh pies or frozen to take home to bake yourself. They sell wine, candy, snacks, olives, pickles, salad dressing, all kinds of fruits and vegetables, and apple cider pressed on site. Another thing I like that others may not have mentioned, is the large, very clean restrooms. There's a craft fair in the fall and Christmas trees after Thanksgiving. Check out their website at http://www.boavista.com.
Not as big as the bigger apple orchards in the area, and not as expensive. Buy apples and other fruits, such as persimmons and pears, vegetables, frozen apple pies. They have hot pies, donuts, burgers, etc. You can even watch them press apple cider.
Boa Vista is the best for fresh produce at remarkable prices. Many times you can sample different products and fruit. The staff is always helpful and will be a pleasure to do business with. Enjoy the beautiful view's with any items from the bakery, your sure to enjoy. This is one place that put's Apple Hill on everyone's list to visit multiple times for years. During Apple Hill they have a taste booth, with all the different apples they grow for you to sample before buying. My kid's always want us to bring them a box of apples from Boa Vista to the college to enjoy and share with friends.
This is a good place to stock up on apples, cider and jams. They also make good apple and blueberry pies. It's nice they are open all week making it nice to avoid the weekend crowds during apple season.
This is our go-to stop for produce on the Hill. Good selection of crafters too. Try the baked goods to see if they are to your taste; our party had mixed reviews.
We have been visiting Apple Hill since 1982 and even though it hasn’t changed much it still is a very relaxing easy day to enjoy the Fall Season here in Northern California. We don’t really experience four seasons as many areas of America and so we rush to capture the best weather, colors of fall and the best season for Apple picking. There are so many places to visit and they all have their special area of expertise to present to the public. There are some who have several craft booths selling very unique items and of course lots of apples, many different varieties of apples to try. All have free samples to try so you get just the right apple. They all sell apple pies, apple fritters, apple donuts, candied apples and caramel apples along with all the products associated with apples, apple butter, apple pies, apple cider and juice and every winter vegetable and squash. We have three that we never miss seeing, High Hill Ranch, Boa Vista Orchards, Abel Apple Acres. Honorable mention goes to Larsen’s Apple Barn and Barsotti Family Juice Co. There are several famous Wineries in the area; I recommend that you try Boeger Winery, Lava Cap Winery and Madrona Vineyards. If you like Beer, you have to stop at Jack Russell Farm Brewery. Plan on spending the day there. If you go early stop at Sweetie Pie’s Café in Placerville for an early breakfast and then at the entrance to the freeway just go straight on Carson Road to the Apple Hill area. It will be a great easy day of fun and good food.
Boa Vista has the best quality and prices. They treat their customers like gold. We buy our local apples here and share them when we visit friends.
We stopped by during our visit to Apple Hill. We bought apples, a pie to bake at home, peaches and their red wine. The apples are always delicious, but the peaches were wonderful. The pie was an evening snack and just wonderful. We tried one of the wines the next night and it was good.
This is one of my favorite orchards in Apple Hill. Loads of fresh produce, nuts, marinades, etc. If you are looking for some interesting foods you will not be disappointed!
We live in the area, so go there fairly often for apple season, apple pies at holiday time, and for the craft booths. The staff is always friendly, and there is plenty of choice for fruit and veggies, sometimes the deals are fantastic. The pies are delicious, tho there are slightly cheaper pies at other Apple hill places, but with the $2 off coupon that comes almost weekly in the local Clipper, it's a deal.
Small grocery with tons of locally grown items. Jams, syrups, BBQ sauces, fresh fruits and veggies. They also make thier own pies well worth it if your in the area. Fresh apple cider and if the grill is going try the tri tip sandwich, awsome.
We snagged some of the last of the season on our recent trip. Sad we have to wait until next fall, but we can be patientDelish!
