First I searched and searched and could not find a separate listing for the RV park located in the Fairgrounds so I had to resort to writing here, hopefully I can get it changed.Unfortunately RV parks are slim in this area. I could only find this one with a few others about 60 miles away all with bad ratings. The positives: we were heading south on freeway 680, took Bernal exit, headed East, on the other side of the freeway overpass was a shopping center with Safeway grocery store, Starbucks, Habit Burgers, Subway, several little restaurants. It was only about 1/4 mile further on Valley (left from Bernal, then Gate 12 at Fairgrounds, then follow signs) that the RV park was located. It was easy to reach, fairly easy to find. The park was clean, each space had some grass and trash can. There were restroom and laundry facilities which we did not need. The negatives: you were packed in like sardines. Never been to an RV park where you are so close to your neighbor. We only stayed 1 night the cost was $50 for full hook up, 50 amp, pull through. It was the only RV park I have ever stayed at where they were knocking on our door at 10:45 am to make sure we were either leaving or paying for another night. If we had planned our route better we would have continued on and stayed someplace else but in a pinch it was fine. Hope this helps with your travels.
This show is a fun place to take yourself and children..There are many displays of train set up and running..G guage is the largest all the way down to O guage and many inbetween...The displays are well designed with scenery and figures. There is also many booths selling supplys and new and used trainsets...This is a dream come true for all railroad buffs and children...
Color me jaded. The Alameda County Fair, like so many others,Is much too commercialized. The same rides and vendors work the fair circuit; it should be more local.
The Alameda County Fair is a great seasonal tradition. Always have a funnel cake and enjoy walking around the festive atmosphere.
My husband & I went to the fair opening day for over 20 years. Big Bubba's BBQ was a all time great. We went to see the 4H exhibit, art, & fair food. Love it!
The County Fair is held each year in June/July. And during the other 10 months, each weekend is filled with events from the "tomato throwing contest" to quilting exhibits. There are car shows, motor home shows, and many different home and garden events. Even Orchard Supply hosts an event yearly.Th only major gripe I have is the parking fee, ranges from $10 50 $15 per event. Much to much for parking on dirt.
Great games, lots to see, and a good setting for the pipe band competition. We hope to come back for the 150th games in 2015
Amazing, stunning numbers of great customized/classic cars; barns full of displays and creative hobby devices by talented persons; atmosphere very good; staff friendly+++. Parking Nazis don't care where you want to be. No signs/directions on best way to get to entry once parked. Pretty well run overall. No signs or bread crumbs to help you find your car when leaving meant about 30 min. wandering! How about a few signs!?!? Put them on fences at row ends, or paint letters on asphalt at row ends.
It's funny, but I was looking recently on a schedule of events of the big San Francisco Moscone center and this County Fairgrounds and I found myself more interested in that smaller fair. They have a lot of events on ... well, more human scale. This is always something going on which is really interesting. There is a big summer fair with horse racing, animals, amusement rides. There are car shows, jewelry shows, house improvement shows, science fairs, great Halloween haunted house. They have some exhibitions about local history, great toy rail road. They also have some good stages and they are being used by bands all the time. The shows are always very well run and organized. Easy to get to, plenty of parking. Located right next to downtown, so that gives you even more options to enjoy your day. As good as it gets, highly recommended!
We were among the half a million estmated attendees at the Alameda County Fair held in the summer. This is a really fun fair with horse racing, pig racing, good music and bands, animals, fair food, amusement area, and the whole range of fair exhibits. Its usually held end June through early July each year. This is one of the events held at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.Throughout the year, they have many other events. We in particular like the car show events, and the Hawaiian luau dancer events. The web site shows what events are happening at the fairgrounds and there is a special section on the web site regarding the popular Alameda County Fair. There is usually some type of parking fee and admission free based on the event.
