schwaesdall winery

My wife and I visited the Schwaesdall Winery yesterday in Ramona California. The Winery had a special day where they were serving Shirley Schwaesdall famous Brats, which are slow cooked for hours in her special recipe sauce, using their Ramona Chardonnay wine. Along with sauerkraut, thin sliced onions and new potatoes, served with rye bread and your choice of mustard's. It was a mouth watering dish with the delicious Sauerkraut and the Brats, which were so tender and yummy. What a relaxing place to visit, as you do some wine tasting, then grab your Brats and your favorite bottle of wine and head outside to their patio area. The Patio is over looking their beautiful wine vineyards where their goats and sheep are grazing on the grass. The vineyards and beautiful mountains in the back ground, truly gives you a calming effect to your day. For entertainment, the Winery had live acoustic guitarist Paul Shanahan entertaining all the guests. Paul's style and expertise while playing the guitar and everyone's favorite songs was so relaxing and enjoyable. He was so good ! The Schwaesdall Winery has many special events during the year, which include a variety of music entertainment and delicious wood fire pizza every other weekend. Special movie nights with pizzas cooked in their wood fired pizza ovens, is always is a popular feast ! The Winery also has wonderful 2 to 3 day trips to Mexico's Guadalupe Wine Valley which my wife and I have taken before. You do a lot of wine tasting, eat delicious foods, including Lobster, and see some terrific views. These Trips always sell out fast. Johnny and Shirley the owners of this small winery are always so nice and friendly, and as they say on there web site "We hope to spend some time with you all in the upcoming months. You are all special to us. We want you to know that we appreciate your continued support ! " If you want to enjoy a relaxing time in the San Diego back country, the Schwaesdall Winery is worth a visit !
