Be well aware that this trip can cost you as part of it is apparently over private property. There are so many better trails in the Mt. Baldy area that offer water falls, vistas, and are not used as hangouts
In the area for business and had a couple hours and a car. Drove up the canyon to Mt. Baldy. Interesting drive with great views. On way back drove along Glendora Ridge Road to George Manooshian Park. Challenging, but well worth it for the views including LA and Pacific Ocean on a good day.
Due to extreme fire risk the U.S. Forestry Service has closed the canyon. The City of Rancho Cucamonga is supporting the closure. Trespassing fines are very high, $5,000 per individual and $10,000 per organization with possible jail time.
The falls are very dangerous for small children and non-experienced. It start with a medium difficulty hike to the top(about 2.2 miles) then its all down hill. If you wanna go to the falls you will get wet!!! Do not bring cell phones or anything that can't get wet. Also you must slide down a nature made slide and jump about four feet into cold water and you must know how to swim. Also out of the canyon is go back the way you came or go up a very dangerous rock climb. I'm a grown man and it was a little scary. The easy way out of the canyon is illegal for no reason! Now that I scared you its beautiful when you get to the wash and it's just a adventure. I enjoyed it very much( after I was done). I hope you make your 3.5 mile journey soon!
