Oak Quarry is not a course for beginners. But it's a great joy for any golfer who knows how to dial back their swing and enjoy a superbly manicured course. The holes [most with elevated tees] is cut from the remains of a rock quarry; which gives it a unique look and feel. The fairways are links-style wide open with ample room for off-center shots. Our only disappointment was the punched greens [with no reduction in greens fees].The course provides a satisfying test of your game.
Pretty course with unique views and a nice layout. Condition was mediocre with a fair amount of poana in the greens.
This is one of the best courses in the area and certainly the best within a 30 mile area. The staff is very helpful and the course is in great shape. The holes are very challenging, but fair. You cannot go wrong by playing here. Watch the wind prediction before booking as in the corridor from the winds in the area. Great views from the holes.
My friend and I love to go to the driving range at Oak Quarry. It is so beautiful the staff is very helpful and friendly. The view here is gorgeous, the driving range is near the top of a hill, so every picture is worth a million bucks. I would like to play golf here someday soon.
There are few words....because this course took our breath away. We golfed with a couple of guys from Beaumont (local) and when they were excited talking about the different holes on the course, we knew we had found a gem. It is stunning. Challenging? Definitely! But it was worth every lost ball.
Stopped here on the way out of Riverside it hit a few balls on the driving range. Also had a beer on the patio of the restaurant which had a great view. I'm haven't been to many golf courses and am not an experienced golfer by any means so the little things excite me such as getting to drive a golf cart to the driving range! It was so cool. If I'm ever in Riverside again I will definitely stop by.
This course does all the superlatives justice. The holes are fun and challenging...the ruggedsurroundings awesome, the staff friendly and very accommodating. How many places havesomeone show up as you're parking to take you clubs to the cart? A duffer's dream.
This is an incredible golf course. It is well kept with spectacular views and holes. The staff is friendly. The course is very challenging and will test all your shots. The greens are fast. The traffic from San Diego was heavy, so next time we'll spend the night there and play two rounds in two days.I think the course is the most exciting one I have played thus far in Southern California.
Loved the scenary. Not an easy golf course, green and fairway are well taken care of. Will definitely go back and play
Twilght is an awesome price and the beauty of the course will tale your breath away on some of the holes. The cart girls do a great job on getting around the course as well.
Built throughout an old quarry, beautiful views and challenging holes. Don't mind the drive for the quick round 3.5 hours when teeing off early.
Played the course last Thursday 4/3. Great course. Clean and lush. Challenging but fair. Definitely worth the drive. Only wish they spread the time between groups, can't even enjoy the scenery with seeing the group behind you. Also, watch out for rattlesnakes. There's posted signs all over for these rattler, Yikes
This is my new favorite course in the Inland Empire. Fast rate of play and great layout, I like the way this course was cut into the old quarry. I highly recommend that everyone play this course at least once.
My co-worker who relocated from Southern California a few years ago recommended we play this course when in the area. Upon this recommendation, we made a tee time and hopped a flight for a great weekend of golf. Upon arrival the course looked great and we were excited about our round. We were a little disappointed by the selection of logo wear in the club house but my wife will be happy I didn't return with another golf shirt. After a few balls down the range, we hit the course. The course is very challenging and beautiful to say the least. The rock outcroppings and quarry ponds that lend to the name of the course are gorgeous. I haven't taken that many pictures of a golf course in a long time. Be sure to pay attention to yardages as this course does require some shot placement planning. It may not be terribly long, but if you are off the grass, you are in trouble. The staff was very accommodating from the bartender at the start of the round to the young man who cleaned our clubs and shuttled us to our car in the parking lot. For the $75 green fee on Friday, we felt it was well worth it and this course will now be part of an annual trip.
This is probably the most impressive golf course in the Inland Empire (in my opinion, of course). The track is cut out from an old rock quarry as the name implies and it offers challenging golf opportunities while not being designed so ridiculously that it should have windmills and castles. While this is a beautiful course, the last few times I have played there have been pure torture, not because of the course but because of pace of play. I believe that the tee time separation is approximately seven minutes compared to other courses who allow ten minutes between players. Essentially, if my math is correct, this results in two additional foursomes per hour. Thus, on my last three visits, we were definitely five hours plus to play a round, waiting on every shot, and on the signature hole over the Quarry lake, a course marshal was required for traffic control to manage the log jam of foursomes waiting to tee up. By the time our foursome got to hole 16, which gratefully returns to the clubhouse, and seeing two foursomes on the 17th tee, we packed it in and went home, not willing to commit another 45 minutes to an hour to complete the last two holes. As much as I like this course, I am very reluctant to return, as I experience enough stress with my game without adding the trauma of a six hour round.
