I have stayed twice at the older board and breakfast down road from actual resort. The rooms were small and cute but nothing extravagant. Its more about natural rustic old time spirit. The facilities have shared kitchens in their sleeping areas. They have a few resturaunts one being at the resort that serve variety of great food. Being smaller area the times open are brief and so if you get midnight munchies your best bet is to stalk up on snacks etc in the home, motel you are staying in. The springs themselves are very spiritual and you feel the need to show respect. Buddha sits in one room and you can try out 2 more enclosed rooms with springs inside or venture off to the out door springs along the path. The actual price varies with the seasons but anywhere from 60-100$ a night and they include pass to springs but just come to check out springs it was about 20 bucks a person all together. Great place to hold a retreat of some sort!

About 20 years ago a group of us were camping up at Sardine Lake campgrounds. We had seen in a magazine that there was a natural mineral spring not too far away and decided we'd all head over. When we arrived, we were told that one person in our party had to have a membership and then we could then come in as guests (paying of course). I "think" the one member paid $6 while the rest of us paid $3 each. After we paid we started exploring and seeing which baths to head to. As we were leaving, we saw the person who took our money drive off. I'm sure the person was legit but it was just kind of funny, like we just made their day! So fast forward, we were staying again in the area (this time in a lodge, not camping) and wanted to check out the hot springs. Yeah, they're still there! Some new signage and a few changes but basically the same. We didn't go in the baths this time but we will next! Great place to rejuvenate oneself mentally and physically!

Only 30 mins from Truckee, the Sierra Hot Springs (also known as the Campbell Hot Springs) is a great destination for quality R&R. I've been there about 3 times during which I enjoyed soaking in both pools of the Temple Dome Area (Once was after a hard hike at the Desolation Wilderness). I absolutely love the hot natural pools and the wonderful view of the Sierra valley from the pool area. Can't wait to return and also visit the other pools!
