My girlfriend and I went to see Suzanne Vega at the Fred Kavli Theatre located inside the Plaza. We arrived about an hour early. It was worth it. We got a great parking spot near the entrance It costs $8 (must be in cash), but that's cheap compared to other venues. The plaza is beautiful. There is a gorgeous water fountain to sit near while you wait. I am limited on walking so I couldn't see everything, but there are signs indicating eateries as well. We were allowed inside the lobby about 45 minutes before the show. Plenty of seating, clean bathrooms and art to look at while you wait. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The theatre aisles are spacious but the seats are not very comfortable or wide. The sound is great. We could see the stage clearly from the back of the orchestra row.

The Kavli theater is a relatively nice--and large--auditorium with good acoustics and a find sound system. BUT--the parking garage is poorly designed, making it slow to load and even worse to unload all the cars. So go early. I don't know about the orchestra area, but seats in the balcony are closely spaced, leading to consistent knee pain for someone 6' tall or more. And most annoyingly, the official vendor for online ticket purchases charges an outrageous fee. Ticketmaster turned out to be the best deal if you can't shlep to the theater in advance. But there is even a surcharge if you buy tickets at the window!!

We just saw comedian Lewis Black at the Civic Arts Plaza. We had never been there before and didn't know what to expect about the venue, parking, etc. Other than ubiquitous LA traffic on the 405 and 101 it was a great trip to Thousand Oaks (which appears to be a sleepy suburb packed with faceless strip mall after strip mall then plunked in the middle of it all is this wonderful performing arts center). Parking was inexpensive and easy in the onsite structure. The sound was decent in the venue (but since Lewis Black mostly rants and screams we can't judge it for more musical acts) and seats were comfortable. there is no poor seat in the house. Staff were super helpful. We will definitely go there again

I'm so thankful that Thousand Oaks has a civic center with quality performing arts. This is a super easy freeway access venue with ample parking and lively grounds. If you are headed to a performance here, pack a picnic and eat it out front in the large oak garden. There is also a CPK and PF changs in walking distance. This place is clean and safe. Don't drive to LA for shows when you can see them here.

This is a super place to take family to see shows. Very classy and organized. I had to pick up tix at the box office and it was very easy to find and small lines. No problem at all. Show seats were comfortable and the seats were all very good views. We saw concerts here and every time the sound and show was wonderful.

This place has great stages, picnic areas, they set up an ice rink at Christmas time. Lots of oak trees and beautiful grounds.

The Kavli (big) and Scherr Forum (small) theaters are both beautiful and great for seeing any type of show - plays, musicals, symphony, recitals etc. There isn't a bad seat in either theater and the acoustics are great. The ushers are very friendly and helpful. For many of the shows there are refreshment stands for drinks and small snacks. Next door is the Lakes shopping center with several restaurants. The Lakes is an easy walk from TOCAP.

Could use some more content .. The display, color and setting will benefit for some creativity especially with all them high end taxes we've been paying in the past few years. That water fountain defiantly can go if it is too costly to maintain, the playground must be upgraded with something more interesting (did you see the Commons in Calabases?!) Or why don't they minimize the fountain area for the benefit of some kiosk / more vendors / additional plays structure.. Farmers market / art & craft market / historical exhibits of thousand oaks ?

Thousand Oaks, CA, a city of over 100,000 population has built and maintained a beautiful venue for all kinds of stage performances. This is a beautiful place which makes one feel that they are in a much larger city's theater. I have not eaten in the area but parking is good and the shows that I have seen were very well done. I feet like I am at, a night at the opera, when I attend a show at the Thousand Oaks Theater.

The stores in this plaza are too pricey and what this really needs is a movie theater. i think it would really help the businesses around there especially the restaurants.

Thank you City of Thousand Oaks and residents for investing in the Arts. The acoustics are excellent. The docents are kind, helpful, and a delight. Our family has enjoyed performances by An Irish Christmas, Bill Cosby, John Cleese, and the Conejo TEDx Conferences. Bravo!

We have been to many events at the Thousand Oaks Theater Arts Center in the past 19 years. Parking is a breeze, their are many good restaurants within easy walking distance and it is usually possible to obtain excellent seats, even on the day of an event. Ticket prices are reasonable in relation to the fine programs they offer. We have set all over the theater and there really is not a bad seat in the house. This theater is a real gem and has always delivered a great experience for our entire family.

This is one of the best plaza I have ever seen. A few good restaurants and shops, awesome artificial lakes with fountain, and a nice playground for the kids. By far our favorite spots for dining out with the kids.
