Paradise Falls has a serenity and appeal that makes it a delightful spot for a picnic. Our thanks for this hidden gem at Wildwood Park.

Paradise falls is a wonderful family trail in Wildwood Park, Thousand Oaks. We found it just after we moved to the area and often take out of towners there for a fun day hike. The trail loop from the parking lot off of Los Arboles, takes probably 90 minutes at a regular walking pace without stops. You may want to stop, however, because there are fun things to see and shaded picnic tables about midway through the hike.Hiking for all abilities, though coming out of the canyon back to the parking lot might get you winded. There is a fire road that has a slow grade down to the bottom of the canyon or you can take the single track trail and really get there fast! The falls are not exactly Yosemite photo ready, but they are fun quirk in this desert that we live in. The famous Wildwood TeePee is also on this trail -- it has potable water (a fountain and a faucet for Fido) and shade if you are hiking in the summer. At the bottom of the canyon (if you are hiking counter-clockwise) you'll find a nice, flat, shaded picnic area that must be used for parties as there are grills there as well. This is a wonderful get away from the city hike in the middle of the city! The trail is well marked and signed. Highly recommended.

Look for reviews of Wildwood, it is down the hill from the teepee, very relaxing to watch the birds and sit near, but seating is modest

I have been here numerous times. It is a pleasant hike about 1 mile from the trailhead. The falls run year round, but are better of course in the spring after the rains. It is located in Wildwood Park, which is kept primitive and in a more natural state than other city parks.

Downhill about two miles through enormous meadows with thick strands of cactus and chaparral including Clevelandi Sage - then a dense forest of Oak and Sycamore and Eucalyptus following a noisy stream. There are many well maintained path options and gorgeous mountain views. Well worth the hike back to the top.

As a well-traveled hiker I can say that this area (Wildwood Park) has a little bit of everything for all abilities. The shortest hike to the falls goes through many different ecosystems & is not too challenging. Several other options that go through the falls, the main highlight of the park, are available, including Lizard Rock. The trails are well-maintained but have some good elevation changes. Really enjoyed coming here with a big group of friends. Not as challenging as I like but still a good hike nonetheless with plenty of places to stop.TIP: The falls are pretty much year-round (rare in SoCal). However, they are fed by runoff from city streets, so jump in (the water is deeper than it looks!) at your own risk.

A small falls and pool (not for swimming but the dog will love it). Free parking, walk a mile from the parking lot on Avenida de los Arboles or inside the park via Moonridge Trail or roads either down to the creek or via the tipi. From the tipi go west down the Robbers Curve where stage coaches were held up and turn right down a moderately steep trail. Water, many steps up and down.

This is a nice hike that everyone can do. Well marked not to challenging. It is only about two miles round trip. Bring the whole family and they will think they are real hikers! Dogs welcome too!

This is a great hike and worth the hike! Enjoy thousand oaks and all it's beautiful sites! Hard to believe this is in town.

Wildwood park is a stunning wild natural park in the midst of suburbia; Once you go in, you forget how close it is to the highway, and the feeling is of total nature isolation.Th falls is a truly beautiful little place, about 25 min. walk, mostly downhill, from the park's entrance. Can't go in the water, but very serene place, great to have a picnic.Going back is a stiff uphill.... but worth it.Not recommended on hot days.

This is a very popular hiking destination for all age groups. On a hot day bring a picnic and walk in the shade down to elegant Paradise Falls. several mountain bikers were seen climbing along the higher cacti bordered Stagecoach Trail. You can go up and down as much as you want but it is not too strenuous. A great introduction to the adventure of hiking!

Was an enjoyable day hiking their paths to the falls. The scereny was beautiful and although not prepared for the hike with water their were fountains along the way. Very enjoyable.

There are many breathtaking hikes in LA, so imagine my disappointment with this average one. The trail begins at the same location they filmed Gunsmoke, so it feels like a western movie at first. The trail then splits into different routes, one of them, into Paradise Falls. It's a super quick and relatively easy hike. I wished I got in a workout instead....there was a waterfall down the stairs toward the end, but I wasn't moved by its splendor. This hike is good for beginners, but pass on it if you want something beautiful....or challenging.
